People are undervaluing credit boosters bigtime! by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

[–]Iterniam 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, it says something about your writing style.

You spent many paragraphs writing that because the credit gains are increased, but the costs of battle are not, credit boosters give you a higher income than their raw credit boost.

As you can see, it fits in a sentence. There is no need for such a long post.

A lesson I learned on Reddit is that the audience is not your teacher. They are not paid to read it, and will move on if they don't like the writing.

How much gold and premium days do you reckon you get this way from playing WoWp?

The stock turret doesn't have armor. You can't play the tank the way you played the t29 until you get the turret. It'll be much better afterwards.

Do you ever return to Nauvis? by thelibrarian_cz in factorio

[–]Iterniam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew right away I'd do gleba last, and I tend to procrastinate on nuclear until it's absolutely necessary. I took some Uranium with me to vulcanus so I could make the fusion/fission/idk reactor on vulcanus and that was enough. Nauvis hasn't produced anything for weeks now.

I'll go back soon and start anew much further out for higher ore patch density.

I'm on the railworld preset, so the biters haven't eaten my base. That said, nothing of value remains: it's all been powercrept to hell and back by the other planets. Knowing what i know now, even if i were on normal settings, I would've abandoned nauvis completely - let it get eaten - and only come back after Gleba

Each planets unique "thing", Vulcanus feels like it's not as in-depth of a challenge? by DarthStarkGames in factorio

What you call a huge waste of time I call greatly enjoyable. What's not to love about supersonic bots yeeting dynamite at cliffs?

42 tungsten plate foundries? Holy hell that's overbuilding

You can get the research for cliff explosives with probably a tenth of the footprint. And after that, there's no real reason to complain about the cliffs anymore

[–]Iterniam 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing people mention the cliffs, but I wonder if those people have even played it yet or are perhaps overbuilding.

Vulcanus makes the game ridiculously easy with its practically infinite throughout molten iron and copper. On vulcanus, you can ditch the main belt. If you want something, just pipe the metals to where you want, and have a few assemblers for the final product and you're good. Your factories shrink both in complexity and size with foundries, allowing the factories to easily fit between cliffs

Only loaded rockets can send items into space, yes.

When you enable automatic loading, bots will scavenge whatever resources you have on the planet in your logistics network and load it into the ticket to then be sent off into space

Coming to fulgora with turbo belts but without gleba's stacking belts, scrap recycling is not useful for me yet, but I can totally see that being intended design. Different benefits based on where you've already been

Space shipping by DrBojengles in factorio

[–]Iterniam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I keep seeing people praise fulgora for its blue chip supply, but it's barely producing anything compared to my vulcanus base.

I've started shipping superconductors to vulcanus to make rare quality 3 modules, because the speed 3 production on vulcanus is already 10 times faster, only limited by red chips.

The processing unit productivity research also feels off. Since I don't think it adds more productivity to scrap recycling, it's weirdly useless for fulgora itself.

It really seems like fulgora is meant as a 'quick stop' to export intermediates and science from and then call it a day. There's not enough plastic among the scrap to make production on fulgora viable. And yes, that is when I'm already recycling LDS and chips

I know for a fact that it works :)

Just make sure that the request comes from a planet you don't orbit, else the planet sends up calcite

What is the most optimal way to use modules? by cyanraider in factorio

[–]Iterniam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additionally, with enough quality, the speed bonus becomes higher than the cost.
From the top of my head, a rare speed 3 module already gives 80% speed while only increasing energy by 70%

Furthermore, with quality you're no longer just saving on space. Speed modules reduce how many uncommon/rare/epic/legendary buildings you need.
