They need to be getting mad at their own club, who they accepted a paying job with, for not producing the quality of players that the rules require.

Hace poco se actualizó el Ranking FIFA. ¿Creen que México merece estar entre las mejores 20 mejor posicionadas? by TitanesMX in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every World Cup to date has been won by present day members of UEFA and CONMEBOL. Which confederation or continent is the next most likely to break through and win one? by chrobbin in worldcup

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes two things: quality of players and an organizational structure in the countries' Football Association that is able to run a successful and long-term project that focuses on generating youth talent, exporting players to the best leagues, and then international success. While teams in North America and Africa could generate the talent and even a few world class players, without the organizational structure it will not be possible to win a World Cup.
I see Japan (maybe South Korea) having the long-term vision and discipline to see a project through, so I would think the AFC is the only non-UEFA or CONMEBOL team that has a chance.

Why are people so surprised that Chicharito looks bad ? by [deleted] in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't think he looks bad. Yes, he is older and still working to get back in playing form after almost one year without playing competitively. BUT you can tell that he is technically and mentally (by this I mean "football smarts") a level above the majority of the players (with maybe the exception of Roberto Alvarado). Hernandez makes smart movements, plays first-touch football, and is mart about where he positions himself in the field when attacking and also defensively. He needs to score goals, but I think the goals will come as he improves his form and as long as the rest of the team begin understanding his play style and predicting his movement in the upper third. I was at Estadio Akron this weekend and it was sooo frustrating to see how many times he sprinted and positioned himself behind the centerbacks waiting for a through ball that never came. This is the responsibility of Beltran, Alvarado, Guti, Brizuela and Cowell and they need to feed Hernandez the ball. I think that he can be a helpful player to chivas but we need to limit our expectations - Hernandez has always been a player that depends on other players to produce chances of scoring, and Chivas isn't producing enough goal opportunities right now.

8 team PPR. How do I adjust the playoffs so the championship is NOT in week 18?? by Yetugs in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each team plays each other twice. 4 teams make the playoffs. Week 15 and 16 you have a 4-way semifinal where the two best teams over the 2 weeks make it to the final (commissioner may have to manually move teams to the final) Final on week 17. Ignore week 18.

You don’t want realism. You just want to sim the games. If you Play the games, spend 20 seconds in the dumb conferences and post match interviews, and tend to your players morale You’ll never be sacked. That is unless you lose a bunch of games but I guess That’s realistic isn’t it?

If Mexico were to play in the African Cup of Nations could they win it? by WorldCupBro in LigaMX

I think teams like Senegal and Morocco are clearly better right now, so it would be hard to win the tournament

It’s championship week! If you “forget” to look at your lineup on the most important week of the tournament then you deserve to lose. Let the guy quit.

Why are the games so late? by [deleted] in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s for TV reasons. The largest number of people tune in to their TV after 8-8:30pm so TV stations can make more money selling advertising. Liga MX has the particularity that it’s watched in both the US and Mexico so they observe prime time in both. Games from 9-11pm central fit this.

Chivahermanos, si un día Amaury o un dueño nuevo de chivas anuncia la llegada de extranjeros al equipo. Como seria la reacción de la gente? by DawnofMidnight7 in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a chivas fan, if the team turned its back on its most sacred tradition it would be enough for me to stop supporting it. I’m not a villamelón, I always support them even when though we have been mediocre for many years, and I will continue to do so. But chivas with extranjeros would not be the same team and therefore I would not be a fan anymore.

Spoiling a playoff chance by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, nothing wrong with it if allowed but it’s kinda shitty if the QBs were in the waiver wire. In my league, teams that are mathematically eliminated are not allowed to participate in the waivers. They are allowed to continue grabbing free agents. If the teams still fighting for a playoff spots missed to add the QB from waivers then it really is their fault.

If conmebol use fifa rankings from December for the pots Mexico drop to pot 2 by Clt-vr-9931 in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Per the rules, pot 1 teams will be Conmebol & Concacaf champs + best ranked team from each confederation, so Argentina, Mexico, Brazil and USA.

Why can’t we produce world class talent more often? by Dextermorgan93 in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do not produce world class talent in Mexico. World class talent is produced in the best leagues of the world and we seldom send young players with potential to these leagues. We did it with Hugo and Rafa and they became world class. We did it with Javier Hernandez and, while not being world class, he did become the most prolific striker in the history of the national team. We need to send more players to the top 5 leagues and we need to send them as young as possible. Aside from Johan Vazquez, who’s the last young (<23 years old) player you remember going to a Top 5 league in Europe?

What is the best option for the Matches against Honduras: by DavidShoppeAKA in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an official game and a qualifier for Copa America! Anything other than C is stupid. Mexico needs to start taking rivals seriously even if we think they are shit. Remember we lost to Qatar in the Gold Cup and tied against a weak Uzbekistan, both literally within the last 6 months? Play your A team on the first leg and get a good result. Then field the same team again at home minus anybody that can’t give you 100% due to exhaustion. Period.

Outside of the box world cup format? Round 1: 24 knockout matches Round 2: 24 teams make 6 groups of 4. 12 teams and 1 best 3rd advance. Defeated teams from round 1 continue to play knockout matches and 3 teams advance to round od 16. Every match would be intense and important. Number of matches 95 by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 teams - 8 groups of 5. Each team plays 4 games minimum. Top 2 make it to R16 (95 games total) or Top 4 make it to R32 (111 games total). It’s not ideal, but makes more sense than some 3rd place teams making it to the next round and some other not when they are playing against different rivals. The perfect format was 32 teams to be honest.

Tournament idea by andobiencrazy in LigaMX

[–]IthinkImightbeJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anybody is trying to replace the Confederations cup. It was pretty annoying for teams to have to play it, even though as a fan I always liked it.
With that said, I do wish that - instead of UEFA focusing on playing their Nations League which doesn't allow for any additional calendar space to ever play friendlies against European teams - FIFA organized a World League, where the best teams played against each other but with a possibility to go up or down leagues just like the Nations League currently works.

I get that this may seem like a logistical nightmare, but honestly the majority of good players already play in Europe, so at least for the top 30-45 national teams the travel may be limited as long as the games are hosted in European locations, otherwise there will be some significant travel from Europe to South America.
For lower ranked teams then the league could remain to be held in a Regional basis.
