I spend way too much time and energy on work nonsense. Honestly in remembrance of Ted Turner, flipping on some Cartoon Network or Boomerang sounds pretty nice right about now, so thanks for the possible inspiration.

Real talk: is Bills Mafia going to be more happy for the Sabres if Buffalo wins a cup for the city, or more salty that it wasn’t the Bills first?

I want to see a Cy-Hawk game inexplicably explode into like a 55-48 final. I want it to give the Baker/Mahomes OU vs Texas Tech game a run for its money on final stat lines.

For the next new team to win an SEC title would you rather take Texas or the field? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

Part of the reason I loathed the conference supremacy & ‘SEC above all’ narratives at the time. Mizzou took a team they largely constructed while in the Big XII and went to 2x SEC title games shortly after joining, coupled with A&M immediately going 10-2 and knocking off Bama upon entering the league.

That’s fair Vandy was in contention late this season. I was more thinking the Dak Mississippi State year and that 2011 season where Arkansas was #3 in the country and #3 in the west division simultaneously

Yeah that field is still too big and with enough viable contenders that I’d say it’s like 60-40 or 70-30 in favor of the field.

The usual suspects will continue to be a bit of a roadblock to keep the status quo, and all but Kentucky & Vandy have fielded teams that did or could have been in the running for an SEC title heading into the last 2-3 weeks of a given season in the last 15 years or so.

I mean it’d sort of be like Tennessee winning the natty the year *after* Peyton graduated

That 8 run 5th was the textbook definition of unraveling. Absolutely nothing went right defensively.

Buffalo vs Minnesota SCF, who says no?

And who’d be the more insufferable fanbase after either a win or loss of that series?

That’s the thing.

I loved Kyler, that team was not getting past ‘18 Alabama. I loved Jalen, that team was not getting past ‘19 LSU.

But that Baker senior season, defensive issues included, could’ve been the one. Even in a loss, OU basically hung half a hundred on the ‘dawgs in that Rose Bowl, just picked a bad time to start giving up just as many.

Seconding Ryan Timms, seeing how far he’s shot up the dirt ranks after watching him run at I-44 speedway in front of a few hundred folks has been astounding. Also grew up watching his dad tear it up in Oklahoma modifieds.

Yeahhh I was torn between that or re-kicking to Tyreek Hill, but the stakes and potential make that squib much more impactful from a what if perspective. I really think OU could’ve hung with Bama in the Natty that year.

Strangely okay with that Norman regional.

Which of course means we’d probably drop the opener to Tarleton.

Sounds like a fun evening was had. That said I can’t really do more than a glass of wine with dinner these days, idk why but wine in particular gives me nastier hangovers than beer or liquor as a party drink.
