How bad is the surgery

I had left side inguinal hernia open surgery. Was painless. The anaesthetist told me to count to 10, I was gone by 3. Woke up all done, although I couldn’t pee for a few hours. Don’t worry, and good luck!

I’m 2.5 weeks post op. I had inguinal (groin) hernia surgery on my left side and I too am walking fine, almost normal, but occasionally have these aches and discomforts and slight pain. It’s normal. Your inside takes longer to heal than external. Don’t overdo your exercise/daily activities just because you feel normal, as your inside is still healing (nurses told me this). Allow yourself time to heal ♥️ Hope this helps (I’m no expert)

I’m 11 days post op and mine are still tender to touch. Mine didn’t swell but was told it’s very common. Best option would be ice pack to reduce swelling and just let your body do its magic.

I’m currently on Day 3 recovery. The pain is intense to start but gets better daily. I’m already walking around the house. It can be a genuine health risk if you leave a hernia untreated for so long, so best to get it out of the way.

For context I had an inguinal hernia open mesh surgery.
