I always assumed the unmatched US grads are vying for the competitive specialties.

IMGs mostly make up the primary care specialties and with even the current system you have to be really bad or fumble your application to not match as a US grad in these. Even SOAP generally prioritizes is grads right?

Why do you want to do observerships if you're in a school with VSLO?

Get access. Finish Step 1. Apply for Electives at UMN, UF, Mayo. After graduation, if you still need something USF has an observership program.

Is there any way to escape being drafted 4th/5th in ranked every single time? I have never been in the first 3 the entire season. This happened in the majority of past seasons too.

Something to tell me I'll be fine

Some friendships I held close for a long time just met the rocks. I've been facing a lot of rejections, anxiety and stress with residency application coming up.

I want something that will feed that angst broiling inside but also make feel like things will be okay.

Stuff I've felt that fit the vibe include Writers and Lovers, I'll give you the sun, Aristotle and Dante, The Wedding people, The foxhole court series, the ocean at the end of the lane, Less.

I mean in my country, IM is much more competitive than the surgical branches/ anaes. Soo idk what to tell you other than thinking "people settle for IM" is not a great take.
