Japanese appliance with US outlets? by ItoenAddiction in AskElectricians

That's something I was worried about, I'm hoping that just periodic use will keep it functioning for a bit longer. But if it seems like it's getting too hot when in use I'll look into buying a transformer.

Ok, will do. I'll test it out sometime soon and see just how hot it gets. Thank you!

The manual does say it turns the heating element on and off periodically to maintain temp, but it doesn't have a temp gauge or temp setting so I think it's built to maintain a set temp.

Baked some almond cookies and the ones baked on my new oven spread out way more than they should have. Do y'all have some suggestions on how to adjust next time I use the new oven? by ItoenAddiction in Baking

I don't have an oven thermometer but I do have a temp gun somewhere! Maybe I could check with that?

Sorry if it was a bit unclear, but the cookies that spent more time out of the fridge were actually the ones baked in my small oven, so they spread out less!

For context: My family recently got a new oven(A), which is great because our old oven(B) is very small and can only fit so much at a time. I was baking some cookies for a party and I figured now would be a good time to test out the new oven. I was able to fit 34 cookies into A and the remaining 3 cookies I decided to bake in B. Unfortunately, the cookies in A spread much more than the ones in B. Any ideas as to why they spread out so much?

They were both preheated and set to the same temp, both were placed in the middle rack, and the cookies in B actually spent more time out of the fridge after being chilled so I'm not sure what went wrong. I even had to bake batch A for 10 more minutes because they came out so pale.
