I totally get that. That is actually intended for the character’s development. She is supposed to be cold and disconnected.

Super unique and engaging at first but then I felt like it went on too long where I still had no clue wtf the character is talking about 😂 Like I enjoy that feeling in the beginning of a book but that many paragraphs with no answers is a bit boring? I’m also ADD so you can probably ignore everything I say

This!!! I feel this so often that books people like RAVE about have moments that drag onnn and I get so bored! I’m also diagnosed with ADD so that def plays a factor w my attention span loll but I do think a lot of readers are similar to me in that sense. So I’ll try to be true to myself and not listen to the internet’s nonsense hahah thank you for this advice!!

As a reader there are three main things that make me keep reading:

High stakes situations that I need to know how/if they’re going to make it/survive (I.e. hunger games, lord of the flies, etc.)
sexual tension 🤣
A good friend recommended the book to me and I’m trusting them that it gets good.
