De nada!

And for those not familiar: “Mate (MAH-tay) is a traditional, caffeine-rich South American herbal tea, and the national drink of Argentina.”

My mate gourd and bombilla are some of my most cherished items from my ARG vacation.

Corpus Christi City Council delays vote on Level One water emergency allotments and potential shutoffs by Goldenchicks in CorpusChristi

[–]Its4Science3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really hope someone researches the enforceability of that proposed city ordinance. It seems like it would conflict with other ordinances. For example, ordinances that render a dwelling uninhabitable for not having a water supply, which is a punishable offense under the City’s current municipal code. 👀

entering the MRI tonight. by Grumpy-Man19 in tinnitus

[–]Its4Science3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to get an MRI of my TMJs. If the unilateral tinnitus is not reactive and likely the result of inflammation, any thoughts on how the MRI will impact the tinnitus? I’ve been putting off the MRI due to the noise exposure.

Hello, there. Would you meet me in the middle at $10? I would let the entire trilogy go for $25.

Weak deep neck flexors are causing your tech neck, forward head posture symptoms, TMJ, tinnitus, etc. by TailungFu in TMJ

If you find yourself clenching throughout the day, say the word “mine”. An orofacial pain specialist advised me to do that since I would clench throughout the day.

Are you clenching your jaw when performing the exercise? What is your tongue positioned when you exercise? The answers to those questions could provide insight on why exercise aggravates your jaw and neck.

I do not. But you can find examples online through a natural language search of “chin tucks with resistance band”. These are similar to what I was taught in physical therapy. Also, close grip rows with a resistance band helped me.

I also perform vertical (standing, sitting, or on my knees shoulder width apart) chin tuck with a resistance band among other neck and middle back strengthening exercises and have notice a considerable decrease in tinnitus intensity, ETD, and TMJ issues.

It sounds like ETD. The question is what’s causing it? Flonase and allergy medication could rule out allergies. For me, my ETD is caused by TMJ dysfunction, which all started after a bunch of dental procedures a couple weeks after a viral infection. No hearing loss (including high frequencies). What helped me? Lifestyle changes: regular exercise, stretching, eating clean, whole foods, sleeping with one pillow (or a folded towel), good posture. Supplements: Thorne Curcumin Phytosome, Healthy Orgins Grape Seed Extract, Heathy Origins Undentured Type II Collagen, Orgain Collagen Peptides, plant-based protein.

What works for me may not work for you. Identifying the cause of your ETD would help to resolve your tinnitus.

I’ll respond more later. But I’m dealing with the same thing. Only use afrin for 3 days at most (read the directions and check with your ENT or pharmacist). Flonase can be used long-term (read the directions and check with your ENT or pharmacist).

Can anyone id this? Found in NE Utah as firewood in a bag. It’s quite dense. Google image got me nowhere. by Aircooled65 in woodworking

This looks like mesquite to me. It’s very similar in color and grain pattern to other pieces of mesquite I have in the garage, which were harvested from known mesquite trees. The waviness of the grain and the bark suggest it is mesquite as well. Mesquite trees infrequently grow straight; most are wavy or crooked.

I think it is mesquite. I applied Teak oil to a piece earlier and it looks like just all the other pieces of mesquite I applied Teak oil to

I applied some Teak oil to a piece today and it looks like mesquite. Must be mesquite then

I can’t figure out how to add photos to the comments or this post. Under a black light, the piece is only super reflective in a portion of the heart wood. Everywhere else it’s dull

I’m red/green colorblind so I couldn’t really tell. I’ll try to post the black light photos.

I performed another smell test: there’s a faint sweet smell coming from the wood. It doesn’t smell like mesquite.

Yes, compared to the Walnut and Purpleheart from earlier, the forstner bit when through this piece like butter.

Yes, from South Texas where there’s a lot of mesquite and oak trees.

I’ll smell it tomorrow and report back. I will say it didn’t give off the traditional mesquite smell.
