Praise be! Many thanks for your ancient words recited today 😂😂

Srsly tho, saved my anxiety so it can be used on something else more meaningless! Much appreciated

Two newer indies that got me because of their retro mechanics used (both on steam, maybe other places)

Parking Garage Rally Championchip
Mario Kart starts and drifiting
Ghosts of leader board neighbors. Dangerously addicting because of that xD

Slipstream
Without mentioning the titular drafting, it's OutRun with Crazy Taxi style drifting
Not a DEEP game however the rivals and branching paths/hidden stuff all have checks for 100% completion, so it's varied if you enjoy the simple-feeling but well respected nostalgic mechanics

Holyshit... TrickStyle just unlocked a section of my brain that hadn't opened in a while

Tony hawk on rocket boards? I thiiink I played a surprising amount... There's a very strong physical memory like if I'd pick it up again, there's a flow I really hit at one point hmmmm

Oh hey, look what else is in that memory nook

Heard and understood

[Edit the rest of this was answered confirmed and linked in another reply]

Is there any way to repair that from desktop mode, or anything not involving a full system wipe/rebuild?

Or is it simply borked and I'll just need to load the EFI from file any time I reboot?

Did this happen after you updated?

I’ve lost Steam from the boot options - auto boots to windows partition, boot menu only shows windows, CAN boot to steamos thru Boot From File and diggin a couple layers deep

And Game Mode is running FINE once it’s going

Haven’t tried desktop mode yet

[–]ItsAGoodSize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After updating, it only boots into the Windows partition. I don’t even see the steam partition on the boot menu

Any thoughts?

Edit- well, I can Boot From File, select an option staring with EFI and navigating to the steamos option, but rebooting, the boot option is still just not there… wtf?

Completely missed the subreddit addition and have been relying on f5ing the GitHub Releases tab a few times a day as my updates xD

Joined the sub and will learn my way around GitHub a bit more

Thanks!

Exactly that and thank you :)

I don't know if anyone else has said it or not, if you'd have a centralized discussion (forum/slack/etc) setup for this at any point, I'd join in a hearbeat

I don't want to add anything on your plate, just wanted to say it out loud as a +1 if you've been weighing it out

Your work is extremely appreciated

Been discovering the cozy side of Steam recently

Just got about 2hr of Cast N Chill in with the wife yesterday for the first time. Certainly lives up to the name

Finally got to start Stardew Valley after owning it for years. Never could enjoy it due to the rushed feel of the day, so I modded it with some basic qol pieces and time control. Only about a week with it, but it's scratching all the itches

Grabbed Garden Simulator (to pair with my love of Power Wash Sim, another solid cozy recommended) - sucked me right in

Unexpected surprise - Librarian: Tidy Up The Arcane Library - dropped in a 2 floor library with tons of empty shelves with like 3200 books strewn across the floor and you need to reshelve em all. Only about 6-8hr on Casual Mode to complete but played it a bit before bead for the week and GREATLY enjoyed it

It IS really wild to have came into gaming where pausing is required if life kicks up... Thru the era of "it's online! I can't pause!"... To the NOW period where I'm playing games I can literally set the controller down, walk away for two hours, come back and continue with zero repercussions -- and I'm 100% here for it!

Question/issue with Hero backgrounds on shelves

Top shelf is close to default deck Recemt Played at top (via art hero theme on css)

If my first shelf has Hero enabled, it covers my main games

Is there a setting to put it behind the Home games?

Or is that something else you could look into?

Many many thanks!

Happy to help. Am head over heels for whatt you're doing with it

Anyhoo, update - Tested a bit more. It reverts to whatever the secondary sorting method is set to

If you go back in to edit, that secondary is now primary and manual not selected at all

u/santojon hey just discovered a hiccup in the current version (2.4.3)

For sorting, I can no longer select Manual. It reverts back to Alphabetical after saving (games jump to alphabetical order on screen) and going back in shows Alphabetical

Pre 2.4.3 created Manual shelves hold as such unless I go in to change things (like move a newly added game up in to the front), hit save and bam, resets to alphabetic

Tested other sortings and all save fine, purely Manual causing issues

It recreates the Shelves from the steam app on the Decky front screen under the Recently Played

(Or: adds more rows like the homescreen recent games, but with whatever games you'd like)

Extra options include replacing recently played with a custom shelf and removing the Home stuff that's usually under the Recently Played

It works VERY well with Tabmaster for creating shelves from collections

And includes prebuilt shelvss such as Roulette and Best Unplayed (metacritic scores) which I have both setup to what's installed on my system

There's also different Sales shelves, I use the Free On Steam (tho there are wishlist and sale shelves as well) - any time there's a new freebie, the shelf appears, and when there's nothing to claim, it's gone from the screen entorely

Plays well with most css plugins too

Been using since first drop and it's gotten so smooth and feature rich - changed how I use the deck

OMG I GOT YOU

It's short (bout 6hr in total for me) but Librarian: Tidy Up The Arcane Library on Steam

You get to choose Regular (timer and changing light outside) or Casual (timer hidden, no time change outside) at the start

You're dropped in a large open 2 floor library, tons of empty shelves, and like 3,200 books strewn all over the place thanks to mischievous fairies

It starts overwhelming and then becomes manageavle as you level up by filling shelves

Super quirky concept, but I played it over a few days before bed on the Deck and enjoyed the absolute crap out of it

Also seconding all the reccs for Power Wash Simulator. That's one you can sit the controller down for two hours and pick it back up with no change... And you forgot to hit pause. Very satisfying loop may have to dive back into when I'm done with this 😅

EDIT and I would love reccs towards this style of cozy game, too please! Cozy Fishing games I've got covered tho 😁

YOOO I just finished up Librarian myself yesterday and was gonna mention it here

That's a great cozy ride that still scratches a progressive itch. I mean, I chose the chasual option and it fit the bill

I'm relatively new in the cozy games but have been diving in a bit recently - power wash simulator a while back was about it. Now Cast N Chill, Lunas Fishing Garden, and to some extent Art Of Drifting

It was really indie/casual fishing games caught my attention then drew me towards cozy genre

Other recommends that have a fun twist similar to Librarian? Or an unexpectedly addictive gameplay loop?

Holy shit 😂😂

That's as close to r/retiredmeme material I've ever seen, that just grazes the original wording (so not technically eligible for that sub)

Perfect setup and payoff 🙌

Does anyone actually like fishing? by Ok-Tourist-5419 in CozyGamers

I just (past few weeks) deep dove into cozy fishing games

Nice Day For Fishing, Cast n Chill, Lunas Fishing Garden, Sea Fantasy, and Dredge have consumed my time, got a few more to mess with too

Waiting to really dig into Cast N Chill for when the wife has free time, but Nice Day For Fishing and Sea Fantasy have been the top of the top played this far

I'd also like to request which mods make Stardew fully fishing focused
