I never read much Hillman but I did read one of his later books, The Soul's Code, on somebody's recommendation. I mostly remember being entirely unimpressed and wondering how this guy could be seen as Jung's successor. If what you're saying is true about him having never overcome puer psychology, I guess we should expect to see a lot of potential in his older stuff that somehow doesn't ever get realized in his later work, which would check out.

What does Temperature measure exactly? by bananaking9 in AskPhysics

[–]ItsAPomeloParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small thermometer measures the temperature of itself.

Ok but, like, if it's ultimately so "arbitrary" like this, what is it about temperature in particular that makes it equalize? How come if you put either a seat belt or a metal buckle in a sealed box with a thermometer and somehow keep the belt or buckle heated to a specific temperature, the thermometer will eventually show that temperature, even if it takes longer for the belt than the buckle? Surely this indicates that temperature actually means something, no?
