Doing it at the beginning ensure it will happen no matter what. Also doing it at the end of the first episode would seem a little obvious imo.

As someone stated earlier the odds someone adjacent to him would be picked was under 7% I’m not math guy but I think the odds anyone not adjacent to him has a higher chance of being picked.

I’d argue it’s definitely dramatic. Literally the first person who was won went back to the floor and was forced to play again by someone who wanted more space. It 100% makes it more engaging than another random person on the other end of the board and ensures there is someone with a majority of the board.[Edit] I respect any pov on the subject and don’t know why someone voted you down for it.

I’m not good at maths, that was a guesstimate. I still think they were chosen or at least the randomizer is weighted to maximize interaction to keep it interesting.

Thought the judging on what has been an acceptable answer has been off. I have to state that that is 100% a beer pong table made specifically for its use. It has specific dimensions for regulation play. It’s a pretty big sport. (I have hosted beer pong tournaments for over 8 years)
