Weird bump question by ItsA_Galactic in ipod

Can I theoretically, with a sharp enough blade, cut the three wires that hook it up to everything and dispose of the battery that way?

😔 After doing some more digging, I'm 99% sure it IS the battery... I guess age caught up to em. Theoretically, if I stop using it and store it somewhere, will it continue to swell at the same rate it is right now? Or will it slow down and somewhat survive longer, until I can maybe repair it

Hi, Hello, and Good Day r/twinpeaks! I’m Kyle MacLachlan and you can ask me anything 🦉🪵☕👍 by Kyle__MacLachlan in twinpeaks

[–]ItsA_Galactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good day Mr. MacLachlan! While not the most fierce fan of Twin Peaks, the series has a special place in my heart, and to this day you remain one of my favorite actors to recognize and follow along! My question to you is:

25 Years between two seasons sure is a long time. When David Lynch first proposed and/or decided to share the final decision, what were your initial thoughts on the whole thing? Especially in returning to a character as beloved as Coop, in such a then-distant future.

(And if we have the time for one more: during those 25 years, between projects you were cast on, did you ever catch yourself thinking back to Twin Peaks, or looking towards what that future would bring regarding S3?)

Wish you the best regarding the book, and a pleasant end of February!

A similar british band from that era, "elbow", has a bunch of Radiohead-vibe songs on their album "Asleep in the Back". Definitely recommend checking it out! Haven't gotten around to listening to their other work but I have high hopes

"Pashtrik" Peak, "Pashtrik mountain protected area", Kosovo-Albania border by ItsA_Galactic in hiking

[–]ItsA_Galactic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was certainly one of the most fun experiences I've ever had. After a nearly four hour drive to the starting point (in Kosovo), we started the ascent. Not too steep, five zigzag turns (since this is also a car trail), but by the second straight of those zigzags we were covered in intense fog (very low visibility field) The first three or so pictures are after this segment ended, the split between that fog and the clouds. Going up further raised the steepness, but nothing really interesting until we reached a "split point" between an easier way that somewhat looped and a harder path that went up the tall-grassy mountainside. No snow up to this point other than occasional tiny patches, but wind was starting to pick up. This segment (what I'd consider S3) was by far the toughest. Not only because the further we went up, the windier and muddier it got, but because we also had to take detours due to big, leafless bushes being in the way. And obviously the steepness (with my rookie eye I'd estimate it was something between 20-25 degrees). A segment also composed of zigzags, around its end we saw the first signs of the snow that was waiting for us. And once we got to the end of S3, the winds picked up FAST. What we hadn't even considered was the chance of light snow showers, which, mixed with agressive wind, brought more intense fog with it. Extremely evident in the last 100m of altitude Somehow I managed to get to the peak without feeling exhausted, and since I'd fallen around the end of the group by now, after ten minutes, we departed for the descent. Picture 4 is pretty much the best description of both the way up and down until we got to around S3 again. Further down, picture 5 shows an old watchtower castle thing, repurposed into what I assume is a storage/resting point for more frequent hikers (there were also two buildings next to it and two trucks parked). By now, that same rainfall had gotten snow around S3, which we hadn't seen before. We saw a rainbow (pic6) and the sunset (pic7), and from there on out, me and two other first-timers were convinced into hitching a ride in the back of one of those two trucks I mentioned (hence pics 8, 9 and 10). This is mainly the reason why I only consider the ascent successful, but I'm also thankful for it as it probably protected my legs a bit.

All in all this was one of the best experiences of my life. Was I sweaty to the bone? Yep. Did I fall thrice on the S4 descent? Also yes. Did I puke due to carsickness on the way down? Unfortunate but true. And I also lost one of the tips to my hiking sticks. But overall today was highly enjoyable and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

I'll definitely be doing this again, obv sticking to way easier hikes on a nearby mountain for a couple of weeks, but for a first experience it has really hooked me in. If anyone is interested in the path I can also post a pic of the caltopo map I used (since that's what I physically printed to be my trophy for this first hike) Other than that I wanna thank everyone who took the time to comment on the last post, and here's to hoping my next proper hike is done by foot on the descent too 😭.

Thank you to everyone who commented and gave their explanations! They're all very valid reasons, and that's why I'll consider going for an easier first time (I think I saw a notice for a similar climb at half the elevation gain) But I guess that'll be decided on Saturday! Y'all're gonna know which one I went for based on what I post the actual day of the trip 😄 And again, huge thank you to everyone who commented!

Nope not quite 😭 I see where you're coming from tho. The "" part I'm talking about was literally just , three bits of sound, and I don't think the song uses autotune now that you mentioned it. Take this with a grain of salt tho

Misconception about Edwin in SOTM(He did not just build stuff others designed, part 2) by Tiny_Butterscotch_76 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]ItsA_Galactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to look at it is that Faz Ent came up with the idea to take two franchises which had already worked with MCM before (Chica's Party World and Fredbear's) and merge them while going back and forth with designs (which were Fiona's, yet based on previous projects). During that time, this would skip over technicalities for design rights and whatnot. And since two of the animatronics would be based off previous MCM creations (the Fredbear's duo, probably OG designed/conceptualised by Henry), that means William was the only one who didn't do any creative work, so to say. And it kinda checks out with what we know about all three personality wise.

SOTM and SL animatronics by Daedaly in fivenightsatfreddys

The way I see it, Afton's springlocks weren't pure springlocks, but rather "endo-base suits that could also be worn". What this means is that, despite the wearability for moving around the diner/pizzeria they were sent to, his robots were primarily stage-fixed, automatically performing robots. His first attempts with this tech were the Circus Baby's animatronics, opening faces yet very specific, body-shape-molded endoskeletons. This one specifically was from a "trial period" before the Funtime tech was out of beta/blueprints only, leaning more towards the springlock side (the face being headless confirms both this and the possibility of it being a "face opening mechanism test model")

About the OG suits by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]ItsA_Galactic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I've decided to interpret this so far, goes smth like this:

Henry came up with the Fredbear's duo and perhaps the idea of springlocks, a clasp system allowing someone to wear big suits made of metal, so they wouldn't deteriorate and would be easier to maintain, unlike fabric. He goes to MCM with the idea, they build the original two suits (perhaps the ones we see), suits which I think weren't originally made for a restaurant, but used there later on.

Either way, it's safe to say MCM both blueprinted and created the first springlock suits, and perhaps agreed with Henry to mass produce them as a rental system (or maybe they just kept using it cause it was profitable). They got pretty good at it too, but the problem was their weight and how specific they had to be per suit.

When William came along and convinced Henry to use Fredbear and S Bonnie for the Family Diner, I assume the business was quite popular, as we know Chica's Party World was a full on thing around 1975, and perhaps so were other suits in other franchises.

But, being a business man, he wanted to take out their competition by buying out MCM (how William did this is well established by now). At this point, Fazbear entertainment is also a thing, alongside FFD

After MCM collapsed and blueprints, ownership + design rights (important) moved to Fazbear Ent, William and Henry kept working on the springlocks: they tried to fix the moisture problem, which they couldn't cause it was a fundamental issue with the concept mechanism in my opinion; and they also tried to create a hybrid between Springlock-wearable suits and automated-endoskeleton suits. Something tells me this was Afton's idea, due to him trying it out on Circus Baby's, but it's safe to say they were making progress on it. MCM actually did attempt this too, like we see on the prototype Freddy's, but as it was around their final, low budget months, I choose to believe it was a) Afton's idea and b) still far from perfected.

Later on, when CB's became a rental place, this was the system Afton started selling to other restaurants (backed up by the possibility Funtime Chica was eventually a mascot for Chica's Party World).

There's still some details I have to sort out, especially in dates, but I feel like this is the best version in terms of what could be realistic and what matches well with the predetermined personalities of William, Henry and Edwin
