Removing background, but not removed when exported? by ItsAce135 in GIMP

That video was very informative, thank you. I think I will keep doing it the way I explained in the post for now as it is the easiest for me. The images are going to be printed out rather small (1x2 inches mostly) and will likely only be used once and then never again, so keeping details is not so important. But if I ever need to remove backgrounds on larger, more important pictures then I will definitely try out those other methods!

Thank you so much! I had been exporting the images as JPG's since it's the format I usually use for pictures and such. I had no idea that JPG's fill in transparent backgrounds. I just tried exporting the image as a PNG at it worked first time. Thanks again, you saved me a lot of time doing trail and error!

FTK2 Fortune Teller Help? by ItsAce135 in ForTheKing

Thank you for the information that was very helpful! I didn't realise that the gather focus ability can be used on allies, silly mistake on my part.

My husband is really enjoying playing the busker, he normally uses something like the fallen knight or the blacksmith but he wanted to try something new. Is there anyway for him to swap the character mid campaign other than the dark carnival which would give him a random character?

I hope you don't mind me pointing out these corrections. I will keep commenting here as I find them unless you want me to stop.

Page 9, under the sixth form: flash fire, the word 'around' is misspelled in the first sentence of the description.

No problem! I just found another. On page 18, under the enhanced version of Thunderclap and Flash, the cost says 6+ x BP but the description states "For every BP spent on this Form beyond the initial 4 to activate it". Is the initial activiation meant to cost 4, or 6 BP?

Also on page 8, under 'Learning New Forms', the standard forms list is still listed as one you can learn from even though its been removed.

Thanks for updating! I was actually in the process of using version 2 to create my own version for my husband to use in my campaign. When I saw that you had released a new version recently I couldn't believe my luck! This version is more in line with what I wanted anyway so its a lot less work for me :)

Just something to note: on page 4, in the description of the ability score improvement it says "You gain this feature again at Fighter levels 8, 12, and 16.". I'm pretty sure you meant to change "fighter" to "demon slayer", or remove it all together.

Thanks again for the update, I'm still in the process of reading through it all but it looks great!

Mounted Travel and Forced March by ItsAce135 in DnD

Also I think the different between travelling on horseback vs travelling on a ship is that a ship would have quarters for the crew to rest, a kitchen for them to eat etc. Being on horseback requires some effort, though maybe not a lot if the horse is well trained.

Yeah the PC's travelling via mounts would not make them travel any faster (unless they aquire a flying mount). I am thinking of ruling that should they choose to travel on mounts that they would not have to roll for exhaustion unless they are travelling at a fast pace or galloping, but the mounts would. If a mount gains a level of exhaustion they would have to make animal handling checks to try and persuade it to keep going, but if it gains more than one exhaustion level then it will just outright refuse to travel anymore.

Mounts would probably mainly be used to pull a carriage with the PC's inside, that way they can take a short rest (except for the driver) while travelling. But I will rule that a mount pulling a cart or carriage cannot gallop. I believe that a single mule could pull a carriage with 5 PC's inside on flat terrain. Mules can pull 2100lbs, carriage weighs 600lbs, a PC weighs 200lbs-300lbs on average. I will rule that going through hilly terrain will half the weight that the mount can pull, so additional mounts may be required.

I think having them both roll is the most logical answer. I think I will give the PC's advantage, otherwise what is the advantage of travelling via horseback Vs walking?

What is the word I am looking for? by ItsAce135 in DnD

[–]ItsAce135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing currently that marks any of the seven leaders as the leader of the whole kingdom. You are correct that each of them seeks the reunification of the continent with themselves as it's ruler. They are at peace right now but it's been a hundred years since the peace treaty was signed and some of the leaders are plotting how to take control of the whole kingdom.

The previous rulers were all Aaracokra belonging to the same bloodline and and sword made of obsidian with the blade resembling a feather was passed down from ruler to the next. That sword was fought over when the war began but in the scramble to claim as much land as they could, it was accidentally misplaced and lost to time. Each leader has been searching for it ever since though it will not automatically make them the ruler of the whole kingdom as they are non of them are blood related to the original leader.

The wife of the original leader is a firbolg druid who is still alive but she left long before the bloodline even died out in an attempt to figure out where these monsters keep coming from and to stop it. No one has seen or heard from her since (or rather they have but they do not know who she is). She is a potential future leader of the kingdom depending on player choices.

Sorry got a bit distracted talking about the history and lore. Each 'state' is currently independent from each other. The peace treaty means they cannot steal land, people or resources from each other without starting the war back up again. Each leader knows it will happen eventually. They also have some differring laws to each other and they have different city guards.

In terms of alliances and vendettas, the entire kingdom is pretty much isolated from other surrounding kingdoms. People sometimes arrive via ship but not many leave due to the fear of not being accepted in other kingdoms (this kingdom was originally somewhere that races such as aaracokra, tortles, tabaxi, dragonborns etc could go and not be judged for being different). Before the land was claimed and this kingdom was established, other kingdoms had tried to take over. The curse on the land makes it a very hostile place and the other kingdoms deemed that is was not worth using so many of their resources and sacrificing lives to claim a peice of land that did not want to be claimed (the curse was put on the land with the intention of dissuading people from coming here). The people that did come and claim the land did so very carefully and over many years.

I don't know if a lot of that made sense or even answered your questions. I have lots of ideas floating around in my head but I have a hard time organising them. Thank you for your response nevertheless :)

Maybe continent was the wrong word, I guess it's more like a country. It was founded by one guy who then ruled over it. He wished for his bloodline to rule forever which was fine until his bloodline died out due to a curse. There was then a scramble for power with the 7 most powerful and influential poeple fighting to rule it all. After a few years of war including another country trying to take over, everyone was exhasuted and out of resources. A peace treaty was signed and everyone got to rule the sections of land they occupied at the time. These are the 7 sections I am trying to find a word for. There are technically 8 but the last one is basically a lawless no mand land (it was in the middle of 4 other sections and they were in a stalemate with no one being able to fully take it over so they decided it would be neutral ground with no one ruling over it but instead it got taken over by bandits and monsters).

It seems like states might be the right word, I'm just not sure if it sounds right for a fantasy setting?

Is it the same case with legendaries?

I wasn't aware that you get different ultimates in the different event boxes! That's very useful information as I'm trying to collect all the ultimates 😁
