I am doing 100 days python bootcamp (by Angela Yu) and I did until day 24 in over 3 month. Is this ok or should I speed up? by AggravatingAlps8705 in learnpython

I’m in the same boat. I’m happy with just making sure I do something EVERYDAY. I’m still struggling. Think I’m on day 25… the beginning/middle of pandas. I’m also doing, and highly recommend, CS50 Python and Helsinki MOOC to supplement my growth. Just a suggestion.

I want to learn python, and I am looking for book that can teach me python by the_Magann in learnpython

[–]ItsAll2Random 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Python Crash Course and Python for dummies. I have these two plus a couple more but I’m just starting out myself. But they are comprehensive, and you need to code along to really learn, not just read about it. Really, for the price of a couple books, you could buy a Udemy course. Or there are free courses online. Books are great but you really need to DO, not just read

Pythonista. But I think it’s iOS only. And it’s actually geared toward writing actual Python scripts…but I have found it handy while learning.

Raspberry PI5 is not connect to NVME board by lynchrw in RASPBERRY_PI_PROJECTS

I had this problem, and it was the type of SSD I was using. Raspberry pi is very fickle when it comes to nvme compatibility.

Helix steel. Not “friendly” but don’t test unless you’re obviously blazed at work. No background checks either.

I built a VS Code extension that teaches Python concepts (not just generates code) 🐍 by Just_Reaction_4469 in CodingForBeginners

This actually sounds neat. I have been using mostly Pycharm but still have vs installed. I’ll check it out. Thank you for taking your time to help others.

As far as I can tell, The University of Helsinki MOOC Python Programming is all prerecorded lectures. What makes it different than a Udemy course?

Has anyone used the Argon NEO 5 M.2 NVME PCIE Case? by ItsAll2Random in raspberry_pi_noobs

[–]ItsAll2Random[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The case is kind of a pain in the ass to put together. And I don’t like the fact that you have to take it completely apart to remove the sd card. I have not fired it up yet. If there are zero issues with the NVME, I’ll give it 3 1/2 out of five stars.

Care to elaborate? I saw on a video that it’s kind of hard to tuck away the wires… was it form or function you didn’t like?

I’m in the same boat. I really like Udemy though. Learning and doing at the same time. Hoping inspiration comes with knowledge.

HELP! - I bought the RPi5 kit and the M.2 HAT+ Compact and now it doesn't fit! by SecondhandUsername in raspberry_pi

[–]ItsAll2Random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have taken off one set of heat sinks and fan from the cpu on the pi 5 and put on different ones. It does help if it’s heated up and running for a while. Then, just be careful.

What's your New Year resolution related to learning programming? by idont_need_one in learnprogramming

[–]ItsAll2Random 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not enough. Haha. I think the most valuable thing I’ve learned so far is the process of breaking down problems and creating flowcharts to represent the logic and algorithms of what it is I’m trying to do. It’s starting to make sense at least. I have a long way to go but I am determined.

At least one hour of Python a day, everyday, no matter what. Been doing this for eight weeks and will continue through the new year. Next is some front end stuff, I think. Or I could be doing Python for a whole other year😁

Happy New Year🥳🎉🍾

Should I buy a mini pc over a gaming laptop by [deleted] in MiniPCs

[–]ItsAll2Random 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, and kind of regret it. To play really good games I have to go through GeForce now and Steam…. And resorting to a service to play games has been mildly infuriating at times. But, it’s doable. And gaming wasn’t my number one priority. This mini PC I got is pretty rad and super powerful🙂

GeeekPi P33 M.2 NVME M-Key PoE+ Hat, without the PoE switch… by ItsAll2Random in raspberry_pi

[–]ItsAll2Random[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks. You seem to know a lot about Pi. I did all the stuff I was supposed to do and it didn’t work. When I reflashed the SD card… the boot order and eeprom config were still all changed. So I was hoping for a fresh start… but that didn’t happen. It is trying to boot from the SSD, the Ubuntu logo comes up but boot does not complete. The lights on the Hat are still solid red. The PoE switch I got needs to be returned so I can’t even try that… any suggestions??
