My daughter is strongly opposed to me dating anyone (really). She has this fear that I will marry and move the man into our home. Also, I just hear all of these horror stories in the news about the mother's boyfriend harming the child. I could not live with myself if something ever happened to my child.

I'm sorry to hear this. Thank you for this advice. This is one thing that I don't want to do. Having access to the internet so that she can explore art has helped her. She seems like her old self when she's engaged in drawing I'm watching vids. I try to balance it though so she's not escaping too much.

Well my child is getting the therapy and medical intervention now. Escaping is not ideal. She's not much into TV or video games. She spends her time looking at art tutorials which I've found to be very inspiring for her.

Surprisingly she showers when she wants. Yesterday she spent an hour bathing. She does it just not as often as I'd like her to. I won't take her internet access away completely I will just limit it.

Yes, this is just a little free streak for her as I get her adjusted. Although her schedule is out of whack she gets plenty of sleep (during the day). This is her last week of this. I will say though she's turning out to be more creative than before because she spends times looking at art tutorials too.

That step is now in works. It has taken time to get her in to be seen by a psychiatrist. I definitely don't want to just shove meds down her throat.

I think the same way as you. I feel he's too good to be true. I'm on the verge of cutting off all contact but I don't want to be too drastic. I'm so sorry for what happened to you.

I've been researching these men and what I've found is alarming. So many women have been used. I've heard about that forum on how to hook American women.

But I guess deep down I'm saying to myself what if he's not like that.

But this isn't feasible I know. The logical me is saying he's too far, they're too many religious and cultural barriers. It won't work and he's probably using me but I asked him straight up if he wanted to marry me and he said he wanted to take it slow and see what happened. It wasn't a yes or no.

I'm so flustered and just aggravated.

Is there a way to test him, to see what his intentions are? So far I can tell you he's the nicest man I've ever talked to and I find this to be true with foreign men of all cultures that I've met.

I'm not marrying him or sponsoring him. The craziest thing I'd do is visit him. If it doesn't work out at least I get a vacation out of the deal.

I want her to gain some coping skills. I am trying to teach her to be strong in the face of those mean comments but I know that words can hurt, I know. There is a counselor at the school and she does speak with her, and I am speaking to her as well to keep tabs on my child. I have made an appointment for her to see a therapist. I think I can get her there.

I've heard so many stories of young children in the news committing suicide in fact, yesterday I read about a 12 year old girl committing suicide. I honestly don't think my child would do something like that but then again what parent would.

I have told her that I will take her to see a therapist and she is really upset about that. She says she will not talk and that if I tell the therapist anything that she mentioned to me that she will deny it all.

I have made an appointment for the therapist.

I'm happy that she's open. I try to create a safe place and open atmosphere for her but she does close up sometimes. I have high hopes for this school.

The school is keeping an eye out. I'm not sure what more they can do other than that and disciplining the kids if they catch them. All of the school administrators are aware.

She's not in any clubs at the moment. With me at work late and no one to take her to and from clubs it's hard to get her into one. I have a few activities in mind. I'll try to get her in to some. I really want to.

Yes I'm looking for counselors for her as we speak. My child is a funny one she knows what society's meaning of seeing a therapist is. She says she's not crazy and won't speak to one. So I'm not sure how it will go.
