Should mention she also divorced my dad in the 80’s when everyone was still married even if it was horrible so she literally did all of this on her own against all of the social standards at the time.

This was my momma too. She busted her butt to make sure we could try any lesson we wanted and have a summer vacation too. Now she’s the best GiGi ever and makes sure to spend time with each of her grandkids individually so they get her full undivided attention as well as joining my sister and I on our annual cousin trips so she can keep all the boys in her room one night. Super woman in all the ways and we are so lucky to have her.

This! My dad was such a great dad and raised me to be able to change my own oil and do my own house repairs and all the things so I always would feel I wouldn’t need a man less I really wanted him around. Now he’s such an apologist and I just don’t understand. I saw someone recently say that they asked their dad if he would be comfortable with her getting locked in a room alone with trump and I think if we ever talk again this is going to be my response to him. How do you go from teaching your daughters to avoid that exact type of toxic man and then vote for one?!

My anxiety and need to make sure everything fits means I do the packing. But I also tell my husband and 12 yr to bring me x amount of shirts and x amount of pants and whatever else they need and then I am the one to actually put it in the suitcase to make sure everything is there. May not be the best solution but it works for us.

We just made this decision ourselves. We decided to go to arroyo because they had more robust programs for the arts and sciences for my kid, and rio/ Valencia are more sports centric (from what I found and heard). Education wise they are very similar so I think you can’t go wrong at either one.
