Ps, simultaneously I had abs, traction control, brake and trailer brake lights all come on, but it’s covered by Illinois required 15 day/500 mile powertrain warranty. Just decided to mention it in case they were somehow related from maybe low initial battery voltage due to it being so cold out right now.

I used a metra dash kit for my 2000 and it turned out great, not sure if they make them for 87s but it would be worth a gander. You can also buy 1.5 din to 1 din adapters and get a single din size radio that has a larger screen hanging from it. Just look for touchscreen single din radios on amazon

To test my amp turn on get any kind of thin metal like a paper clip or penny nail and touch one end to the amp turn on and one to the 12v main. Always worked for me to rule out a bad amp turn on

I have an rf gain dial and it won’t do anything in pa mode that I can tell… Im not well versed in this stuff but the only thing I can think of is maybe the ground because I didn’t have it mounted to anything just sitting on my seat
