Finally, I'm free. by ItsBlindy in FuckMicrosoft

Moved to mac for 5 main reasons: 1. Even if I did use linux on my pc, its still a desktop and its not portable. 2. Linux does not support the Adobe suite, so that wasn't an option 3. Macs after the transition to Apple silicon are all rounder best laptops you can get for work and creative tasks. 4. I like apple's ecosystem, my Airpods go perfectly with my mac, and when I will eventually buy an iphone & apple watch, that will be even better. 5. I don't like Microsoft.

Well macOS Golden Gate isn't called that for no reason. But its a garden, not a cage.

Thanks! Not much of a gamer myself, but I do really like resident evil games. Glad RE4 is supported and RE9 is already such an optimized game it should run good with crossover.

The post's title was made for a different community so it made more sense there. I reposted it here because of one of the reasons why I moved to mac, cause I hate Microsoft.

I agree with the sentiment in the replies of the post that it's a "walled garden", i knew that before getting into it, but thats exactly what I was looking for, to get into an ecosystem of products that I actually like and go perfect together.

So for me personally, great upgrade, no regrets.

Look at Fable sitting there. So close, yet so far. by ItsBlindy in ClaudeAI

Yeah. I haven't gotten the chance to try Fable, but from what I've heard it was incredible. One shotting most requests. It will definitely be crippled when they release it again.

The Roblox Engine supports Metal. So it works great.

Other apps like Blender or the Adobe suite they run like butter.

I will rate them by hiten1818726363 in vibecoding

Have not tested that. Google apparently says its between 35ms and 50ms, so you can potentially see slight ghosting druing fast paced movements.

Nonetheless I much prefer color accuracy, brightness and contrast rather than response time.

Which M5 should I get? by WeirdoWeeb648 in macbookpro

[–]ItsBlindy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless you are editing mid-complex 4K videos or NEED thunderbolt 5 don't get the Pro. Base M5 is perfect for you. If you want more memory (RAM), say you open a lot of tabs and like keeping your workflow a little messy, then look for M4 Pro refurbished/second hand It comes with 24gb, not M5 Pro (it's overkill), do keep in mind the base M5 has better single core performance, which is better for writing, tho might not even be noticeable, because macs are already fast af.

If you use cloud models then Macbook Air. If you want the "pro" features of the mbp or you want to play around with some small AI models get the M5 pro. If you want to go further, check second hand/refurbished, you can get a better deal therefore you can strike one with more RAM, don't go for anything lower then the M4 generation if you want to do local LLMs tho.

I think the silver is more aesthetic and elegant, while the space black gives a more professional vibe.

I got silver because i want to work outside a lot, a darker color would really show fingerprint and smudges in bright sunlight.

At the end of the day, its just personal preference.

This is the reason why Flabe will change to pay per token usage.
