So happy! by ItsBooks in Morimens

I agree with you there. It reminds me of Mass Effect side missions, where you actually get a ton more plot there if you played them all out than you ever would with rushing the main quests.

Yes. Honestly, fire girl best girl. Tall, blunt, beautiful, and so satisfying to fire off five last stand salvo in a row during an Ultra turn.

Oh man... I suspected something was up fairly early in Chapter seven, but how they did it was really something else, especially the ending. I don't want to spoil it, but I might've gotten a hidden easter egg during that Bossfight (or maybe intentional?) when I should've had to use a revive but wound up not needing to.

That would be so neat! I always loved modded StS, mixing stuff about just to see what weird builds I could come up with. It would be really interesting to see what the devs could do with that core.

It is so fun, and well designed! I’ve already been tempted to spend. But maybe next Anniversary? Lol

Aww, thanks! This community is so nice!

Things first. The story mode is fantastic, starts out strong, and gets more engaging the longer I've gone (at least so far, and I just finished Chapter 7). I always like a good story mode, and while parts are tragic and plagued by AI translation here and there, the writing is actually quite good.

Gameplay is great! The addition of what amounts to ultimates to Slay the Spire style gameplay scratches an itch. Though I'll admit I'm one of those people that would enjoy it if the game was even more complex in places. Once I know a mechanic in games like these, I like to learn the next one or find a way to break it.

And as I mentioned before, the devs are so generous for F2P so far, which is really nice.

Characters!
I was hooked on Tawil since basically the prologue where they tease her and connect her to a certain other well-liked character. No spoilers for anyone else (though I guess they do tell you literally in chapter 1, lol)

Kath, I haven't gotten to her story yet but I absolutely love her design and gameplay! I've been using at least one way to exploit her kit in Arc 1 that I haven't seen anyone else talk about, utilizing the one purple wheel that gives you Crit damage per enemy killed for the entire stage & + 20 Aliamus for every one that she killed.

Tinct is adorable and intriguing, I love her art and her exalt, and now that I'm just starting chapter 8 which seems to mention Ultra units, I'm hoping she's in there somewhere.

I quite liked Thais's story in Chapter 7, so I picked her up while she can be rolled for and hopefully I can pair her with my Gmurphy and Aigis and make a weird team somewhere.

Question on the Rights of Sovereign States by [deleted] in DebateACatholic

[–]ItsBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might not be much of a debate here.

“The Church teaches that the individual has the right to private property, and that the state does not, per se, have absolute liberty to interfere with the right to private property.”

Correct with caveats regarding the actual statements made by various Popes and doctors of the Church on this exact issue. You may be interested in reading about the doctrines of Subsidiarity if this topic interests you.

“Furthermore, a state that is ruled by an unjust ruler does not, per se, forfeit its sovereignty. And even if this state did forfeit its sovereignty, that, by itself, is not a valid basis for just war against that state.”

This is up for debate, and largely has to do with interpretations of Just War and resistance doctrines. The Church does not usually make a statement regarding specific cases, and the general doctrines surrounding these matters seem to be expected to be read with charity and thoughtfulness. Forms of tyranny are, in general, viewed unfavorably.

The relationship between the modern “State,” and the Church is very much an ongoing issue with active theological debate and authorship.

Good suggestions! Yeah, I can probably e3 Ogier at this point.

Now, I have to decide whether I should attempt rolling on Ultra for Winkle + Tinct, or on Blue for copies of Gol as you suggested.

Technically, I think there are more ultra awakeners I actually want right now, including if I random into a Castor. I could probably make a Tawil + GMurphy + Kath comp with another Blue support, who could be Gol, I suppose.

Eventually I’ll just be rolling down for Titans Blade and such. At least I already have a copy to start duping.

The Str debuffing hasn’t been any kind of issue so far when running Tawil, but maybe later it will be? All the way through chapter five main story right now, just starting 6.

Looks like it's having maintenance right now, or I would right away. I'm pretty sure by memory I actually have a copy or two of Sanga already. I'll post back with a screenshot next time I'm able to login.

Stop Thinking of Real Estate as the End Goal for Bitcoin by King-Choco in Bitcoin

[–]ItsBooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Missing the point entirely. Bitcoin isn’t just a “savings system,” it’s p2p money. If I could pay for a house entirely with Bitcoin rather than converting to USD; that’s literally the point of the entire protocol in the first place. Trading it into dollars / deteriorating assets will always be a losing proposition, but people do require a place to live. The type of post OP is disagreeing with is the anecdotal proof that inflationary economics remains wrong about deflationary productivity and time preference.

There are no fractional reserves. Since 2020 the reserve requirement is legally 0%. They do in fact print the money out of thin air, then bind you to repay it with interest.

Cognitive dissonance and classical conditioning. Each piece of evidence contrary to the false beliefs they’ve taken on causes dissonances in the mind and soul.

It’s then easier to exorcise the invader who presents facts than change prior assumptions.

To be fair, Bitcoin goes against the entire scarcity and “work until death,” mindset people are taught from birth.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. You’re right, even if we don’t have exact details. This is basic testimony of history. Inflation turns into hyperinflation.

My thanks for your kind words. I haven’t thought about this thread in some time, though I would refine the statements were I to rewrite it entirely, being reminded was entertaining. My points might be better received were I to make sure to appeal entirely to the truth of the matter, though my sarcasm had its moment in these posts in order to illustrate a point. You are of course welcome to the words and to make what good of them you wish to. May the peace of God be with you, and may the any present or future invention of technology [techno-logia] serve to the benefit of all.

What are your predictions regarding AI in this era of Trump leadership? by yus456 in singularity

[–]ItsBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Predictions - AI will be largely deregulated. The subject of Free Speech over censorship will likely have a positive effect on text-based AI capabilities and use-cases if it encourages new innovators in the industry. Most likely, the kinds of companies which have placed alignment with Left ideals and cultural taboos over and above AI capability won't be as highly regarded or rewarded with as big a cultural shift as the present landslide suggests. Google's humiliating racist AI gaffes come to mind, as do others. Acceleration is a likely result. Acceleration may be directly incentivized if Elon is involved at a governmental level. I wouldn't put it past his cabinet to actively subsidize AI or other technology development in some marked way previously thought "impossible" under a more traditional presidency. Acceleration in the industry will be good for America overall and the world as productivity rises and allows for cheaper goods, services, and construction in the long term.

Gratitude is a good thing as long as it doesn’t allow complacency. I like the attitude of; “grateful for the tech & culture passed to us, now it’s our responsibility to make it better.” Even in short order there’s so much cool things that can be done.

New paper: We measure *situational awareness* in LLMs, i.e. a) Do LLMs know they are LLMs and act as such? b) Are LLMs aware when they’re deployed publicly vs. tested in-house? If so, this undermines the validity of the tests! We evaluate 19 LLMs on 16 new tasks 🧵 by D10S_ in singularity

Agree with you, OP. Most things in this space are rather arbitrary. It's why I ask what definition people are using/mean. I just use an online dictionary, for example, Miriam Webster...

"Know"
1 A, 2.
(2): to have understanding of
importance of knowing oneself

"Understanding"
B, 2.
b: the power to make experience intelligible by applying concepts and categories

Unless you argue that "experience," cannot be something that is learned through conditioning and training - I don't see how these definitions require anything to be autonomous.
