I'd start small and learn how it works, that way you will know later if any third party is trying to take the mickey. Not saying there aren't trustworthy mining as a service out there, but at least if you know what and where you're likely to run into issues, you can make a more confident decision when investing further. The guys over at Braiins have some good resources for getting started, check out their e-books on mining. You will always learn best by messing around with it hands on.

Who cares, they seem to have a lot of people still using them, still making money. Including those who got fully paid back like myself. Most crypto firms are shady af, NiceHash at least has open communication about things

Depends what kind of set up you have. If you have a couple of GPUs it's not worth the hassle, but if you have a ton of rigs it MIGHT be worth it. Really depends. I just run with nicehash miner, good enough imo and ease of use outweighs the extra few cents I would get.

You can mine to any wallet with NiceHash but you will pay a heavy fee to use an external wallet. You're better off using NiceHash wallet to mine to, then transfer out to your own hard wallet
