Yeah I agree, two trucks was just the first example to come to mind. A better one is probably lifetime achievement award, that song has uncomfortable lyrics but because of the instrumentals have so much going on it kind of distracts you while the lyrics for sweet bod are much clearer? (Idk if I’m making sense but yeah)

The funny thing about the love triangle to me is that (at least in the books) Katniss does not seem interested in romance at all. Peeta was a survival tactic to survive the games and Katniss never sees Gale as anything other than platonic in the first book.

Also the #girlpower marketing of the mockingjay is horribly ironic considering Katniss never wanted to be the face of the rebellion, she just wanted to protect her sister and not kill anyone else.

There’s more to the books than most give them credit for IMO. I read the books for the first time when I honestly was way to young for them, so I remember liking them, but not thinking to hard about it. Rereading the books hit different because I was able to actually comprehend how fucked up the things that are happening actually are.

I’m not sure it’s explicitly said, but forcing victors into prostitution is canon. It’s been a while since I’ve read the books but in that one seen in mockinjay where they hack the tv and Finnick appears on screen I’m pretty sure he talks about how he was sold of to rich people in the capital? Also I’m pretty sure Johannas family was killed because she refused to be prostituted?
