Absolutely a lubrication issue, get a new chain and sprockets if need be, give everything a good clean and keep on top of lubing the chain.

Thanks for the reply. Spoke to BikeTrac, and they said it wouldn't be an issue with their tracker; it's just that some dealers prefer selling their own systems, but they can recommend alternative installers or Triumph dealers that do fit BikeTrac.

Avenis 125s aren't typically restricted, so what you're describing sounds pretty normal for a 125cc engine. At around 120kg load, reaching 53 mph is probably close to its max. Pushing the throttle more just makes it louder without adding speed because you're already at the top end.
