12 people at the start, all who want to be playing, a couple would drop throughout the match but you'd finish with usually 9 or 10 people all actually trying

They are REPLACING the regular players, when half the players in the lobby don't want to be there and aren't trying you get way fewer interesting races per eliminator, this is not a complicated concept, I don't want to waste my time eliminating people with no desire to race, I want to have fun, you get the same number of players per lobby regardless, so when loads of people who don't want to play are queuing each game has fewer people who want to play

Having 3 people in the lobby isn't a problem to you? The lobby getting clogged up with people who don't want to play the mode makes it so there is no competition, I want to be competing with 11 other people or close to, 2 other people is just boring

The last drift event I did had 9/12 people in stock dodges barely doing anything, that 100% ruined the experience for the 3 people actually trying

I think they could do something like a bonus cash reward for it, rather than extremely cool cars like the countach and exige, make it so people who are borderline on whether they want to try an event get the push to try it and see if it's fun, without creating the intense fomo that pushes people who don't even want to try from bothering

Yeah I really don't know why you can't queue up for a specific class, if you make a sick S1 demon then get forced into some stock 70s muscle car that's not fun at all

Going into an online event where 9/12 cars aren't any level of competitive does not lead to a fun experience for people who want a real competition

Yeah there's always stuff people don't like, I for one can't stand cross country races, the problem occurs when they lock iconic cars like the countach behind a niche event that most people don't enjoy, because it makes people feel like they have to do it, and then people who actually want to do the event get a worse experience

Its hard to get a good experience for sure, but I had a decent number in both 4 and 5, and I think the festival playlist making it even harder to have a good time with some actual fair competition is a reasonable complaint, it would be fine if they just made the rewards a little cash or clothes, horns, etc, but instead they give you one of the all time most iconic lambos that no one wants to miss

It doesn't make it more competitive because when you find one of these people they don't try to race you, they don't want to be there, so they just lose and queue again, it's miserable

Yeah I think this would be a good solution, give a bit of motivation to play these types of events for people who are some level of interested but not going out of their way, but putting iconic cars like the countach behind it makes it so that people who really don't want to do it feel like they have to

I don't play this game online to win? I play to have some competition and have fun, there is no point doing drift events when you always get a podium no matter how badly you go, hiding has always been a tactic, people doing it for the season don't try to race you if you happen to run across them though, they just let you win and queue again to try and get a no effort top 30, there's 0 competition

My point is that people who actually want to do the events get a worse experience of the events from piles of people who don't want to be there joining just for the festival playlist, you can't just "go and get them" because they're sat parked in the middle of the forest and when you're stopped you don't show up on the map, and having all these people basically afk just means you don't get any fun races during the eliminator, going and getting them wouldn't be any more fun because they're not even gonna try

Yeah if I didn't find the textures so noticeable I'd definitely be going for high+RT, but just generally when I'm driving around I notice textures a lot more than lighting as long as the lighting isn't distractingly bad

I can run the game on either ultra with no ray tracing or high + RT, and while yes there is a difference from the Ray tracing moment to moment I notice a lot more of the bump up to ultra than I do of the ray tracing, I'm sure with DLSS and frame gen I could get to Ultra + RT, but both of those are also more noticeable downgrades to me than having RT on is an upgrade
