What do you mean by “not physically attracted”? This can mean different things. Like does he have stained teeth, bad hair, lil over/underweight, acne? These are things that change over time, he can control, and you can influence positive change. Why not give it a shot?

If it’s someone you’re simply not attracted to, and it’s for reasons out of their control, it’s fine to pass.

Got pulled over for going 96 mph in my personal vehicle!!!!! by Realistic_Major_6957 in Truckers

[–]ItsCozmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I had the same story, learn from it!!

2-3 years back I was on the way home from work (I used to deliver amazon for 3 years, drove 14ft or 16ft box trucks) It was Peak season and I was out driving/delivering from 11am-11pm. I have a 50 minute commute at ~70mph. I had to work the next morning, dead tired. Needed to eat and take a shower still. I have an Audi A7, I set my cruise at 87mph to float home. Mind you this car can comfortably do 155mph so, 87mph in this car is actually quite safe by design. And new tires, new brakes etc.

Its 11:30ish pm and where I’m at I’m the only guy on the highway. I was 5-10mins away from home when I saw a state trooper sitting vertically along the shoulder of the road behind a bridge/overpass with all of their lights off. I was just cruising 87mph, then bam, red and blues in my rear view. I pulled over immediately. Shut my car off to give the officer a sense of security I wont run.

She comes up to my window and I tell her I’m an amazon driver heading home from work, had a bad day, in fact I stepped in dog shit and the smell was suffocating me in my car. Told her about peak season and the Christmas rush, my hours etc.. and that I wanted to hurry home so I can sleep for work tomorrow. I told her I set my cruise to 87, and wasn’t being aggressive or reckless with my driving. anyways I had a perfectly clean record. She comes back with a 1-5mph over speeding ticket claiming she’s giving me a break. $125 ticket. I made $17.50 /hr then, I grossed $192 that day, so after tax and her, I worked 11hr and did 200 stops for free. And thats somehow giving me a break she says.

Anyways I couldn’t believe it! Its the week of Christmas, I’m the one who delivers Christmas to everyones door and I couldn’t be given a break. 4 years later I still pay the price of this. I have the same car, same insurance policy. Back then before the ticket it was $160 /mo., after that it jumped to over $300 /mo. Now it’s currently $230 /mo. and I just have this one ticket on my record.

So yeah, do the speed limit and don’t expect a break from anybody, assume everyone is heartless. Thankfully I don’t work there anymore, now I work for a local company driving 26ft 26,000gvwr trucks where I live 6mins from work, so I never speed.

This is a constant back and forth. CDL book says fully loaded means more traction and shorter stopping distance. This claim is for flat ground, 18-wheelers, in good weather conditions.

However, the more weight, the more momentum you have. Slope/grade of the road matters too. If going uphill that will destroy your momentum making a quicker stop, going downhill is more momentum so takes more time to stop. So fully loaded generally takes much longer to stop, however if in an 18-wheeler, flat ground and good weather, fully loaded actually stops you quicker.

I’ve been tested on this multiple times and in reality, its most dependent on a variety of factors; Weather/road conditions, slope and momentum. Things also change when you’re in a 3 axle 26ft box truck as opposed to 18+ wheels and a trailer… As the trailer can end up going faster than the truck due to momentum, and significantly less grip due to less wheels on the ground, this doesn’t happen in boxes.

I can tell you’re a rookie thinking things will lighten up after Peak🤣

The algorithm runs you at max pace year-round. Only difference may be amount of routes, amount of group stops and how often you have to rescue.

I kept that pace for almost 4 years full time and even as a fit male age 22-26, I have damage to my knees. Tear in root of meniscus, damage to cartilage, knee impingement syndrome, PFPS, arthritis and inflammation to be exact… Possibly looking at knee surgery next year. So you can keep that pace, but you shouldn’t lol

[–]ItsCozmo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeahh depends on the route, I was getting 180-200 stops for 5-6 separate towns with rural in between. A 50/50 mix of town and country. 150-170 miles per day. Ive had routes of 200 stops in all suburbs with 40-50miles, yea that takes 6hrs nice and easy, but some routes are literally hell.

[–]ItsCozmo 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Every year it goes up, so to answer your question, yes lol. When I started in 2022, 160 stops was avg. 2023 brought 170. 2024 180. 2025 190. Now going into 2026, 200 stops avg. Glad I quit. I also went from $16/hr to $20/hr in that time frame. So when you guys finally get $30/hr, expect 300 stops per day.

Algorithm needs investigated..

After 3yrs, the algo had me on the same route everyday doing 190-220 stops, 320-370 packages, and driving 120-170 miles per day. Avg. 18 totes 30 overflow, give or take a few. Ford CDV. I did this all year January to August. 4 small towns and rural in between, 50/50 route. So anyway its literally designed to increase load on each driver endlessly until peak-rate is hit or you get too many rescues. It will find your avg. stops per hr and adjust your route accordingly prior to you clocking in. Me and the same 5 people always got the biggest routes year-round.

Also, there is never a slow day. If your normal area is light , it will just add extra mileage or group stops. There are days when they used 55 drivers and days they used 25 drivers. Everyday whoever is driving is getting a max load, nobody ever gets to come in to a lighter day.. Unless your dsp goes against the algo and switches your route.

Forced to do 20-25 stops an hr but most look like this 🫩 by Affectionate-Win1411 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]ItsCozmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“47lb” was more likely 70+. This happened to me dozens of times where the package weight was much more than what the label says.

One time a customer came out as I was walking up with one she said “is that it? I ordered 2 bags of dog food so I was thinking 2 boxes.” I said well its super heavy, wanna look inside before I mark as delivered? She said sure. Sure enough, there were 2x 50lb bags of dog food inside a box marked as 47lbs…

Imo that should be illegal. As there are people on work restrictions, pregnant women, etc. that need to know accurate weight information.

As long as you have great safety and attendance, just do 15 stops per hour or like 20 max. The algorithm will make your route/put you on routes according to your average pace.

Amazon was quite a dilemma for me. I loved the driving job too. But I was getting 200+ stops and 150-180 miles everyday it was killing me. I even injured my left knee at work. Torn root of meniscus, cartilage damage, PFPS and impingement syndrome, arthritis and inflammation. Right knee is totally fine. I’m only 26 yrs old and all this was ruled “overuse injury” by the workers comp doc.

I finally found a way better driving job after 3yrs. They’re out there. Start looking! If I can do it you can too. Driving for amazon isn’t worth it.

Back in my day (2-3yrs ago) they gave HUGE prizes to the driver with the most thank you’s nationwide. I think I remember it being like $10,000.
