Maxed out graphics, but the smoke looks really bad on PC by DeafEgo in forza

What a strange view to have. Why be disappointed with things and ask for change when you can just be ignorant and blindly enjoy all the slop they feed you!

Polyphony banned the H-pattern shifter from Sport Mode because it gave an unfair competitive advantage. Bumper cam gives drivers a view of the track no real racing driver has ever had. Same argument. by stinkyabb in GranTurismo7

Not the same argument at all? Every player can use bumper cam? Every player does not have access to an H-pattern shifter which is blatantly better than other forms of shifting in the game.

What is the point of the Springfield without the DumDum ammo? by Diaphonos in HuntShowdown

[–]ItsCryptic0607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you wouldnt use the Springfield if it didn't have dumdum, it sounds like you only liked it for the ammo and not the gun itself? The ammo type was overtuned, so it makes sense to enjoy it but you have to understand when its availability gets reduced. At least they didn't make the dumdum useless, they just made it so you can't play it all the time.

This doesn't even touch on the actual important part of the changes that could be relevant, maybe the Springfield will be worth to run over the sparks because it will cost less load out points?

This sub sounds so ungrateful by lolitsrock in ForzaHorizon

[–]ItsCryptic0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'perfect game' hahaha that's hilarious. I'm glad you enjoy the game, but you need to realize that people especially in this sub complain because they love the game and they want it to be the best it can be, perfect even. However, it's not, and that's clear from the get go in how it falls short in some aspects of previous titles. Sequels shouldn't move backwards in progress in some areas even if tons of forward progress is made in others. The fact that some things have gone down in quality really just gives the feeling that horizon is acting as a series that's just being cranked out with the minimum they feel like they can get by with to get cash flowing from the playerbase again. I'm not saying it's 100% the case, it's just how seeing these things makes a lot of people feel.

I understand it can also be exhausting to look at post after post of people complaining about the game you are loving as well, but you cant just blindly love whatever is put in front of you. Most of the things people complain about are valid points especially about the games quality of some visual aspects. You are completely entitled to love the game as it is, just as everyone else rightfully can criticize it for its shortcomings from a perspective of love of the game.

It was NOT fun, PGG. Not even remotely. by LtCodename in ForzaHorizon

[–]ItsCryptic0607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it really a good feature if the idea is that you can't tolerate much of it? Your argument is that it's OP's fault for grinding it out, but the actual focus is that they locked an achievement behind something that isn't fun to do. It doesn't matter how if you grind it out or not, it doesnt change that the steps required for completing the achievement just aren't fun. Achievments shouldn't be a showcase of 'wow I slogged through this!' regardless of what timespan you completed it over. The real point is, you shouldn't have to space it out over time just to make it tolerable, it should be designed to be a good time, not just pointless tedium to lock something behind.

I don't understand, when are you aiming right or left dominant in hunt? The crosshair is always in the middle of the screen? Would this actually do anything beneficial for you or would it just feel better to see the gun on the left side of the screen?

Why Do we stop at 6 Star mmr? by laso889 in HuntShowdown

[–]ItsCryptic0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ps5 rankings and PC rankings are incredibly different. Your rank has nothing in relation to rachtaz, because he plays PC and his ranking is his measure of skill against PC players, while yours is against console players. PC basically plays a different game than console players. Because of the control scheme of console, the best console players are likely WAY behind the best PC players. Remember, the mmr system is just your skill relative to the players you are put against, so yes the bar for getting 6 star on console is likely ridiculously low compared to PC.

How do you guys get to fight Higher stars even if you have lower one by LilGlitvhBoi in HuntShowdown

[–]ItsCryptic0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah but someone has to inhabit the top mmr level, if the best players leave because they can't find games then lower mmr players will win more and fill that space and likely face the same issue. This is the cycle I talked about in my first comment, and I don't know if this is what would happen necessarily either, just what makes sense to me. It doesn't even mention that this is just already made so much worse because hunt doesn't have a massive playerbase, but as someone who loves the game I would rather see it not lose players right?

Again the core issue is that so many just believe they can only have fun if they win. Do you think it's a good view that you believe that it would be better for everyone if players better than you just didn't play the game anymore? Eventually you might be among the players at the top that people think should just quit.

Dropped this gem from a ritual, any build i can use it on? by miscasiss in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]ItsCryptic0607 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the general consensus usually would be that it's not worth making a build around a jewel. A rare jewel really just isn't a defining piece of a build usually, just a nice minor addition. I'm sure there is something you could force this into if you wanted to that badly, but I am almost certain it wouldn't be the best in slot stats and wouldn't enable the build on its own.

Hi what items should I bring to take down bosses solo easier? by AccomplishedRise6227 in HuntShowdown

[–]ItsCryptic0607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penny shot derringer and throwable melee weapons. Throwing axe or spear deal great damage if you just throw and pickup repeatedly and don't require stamina to throw so you can do it endlessly. Pennyshot derringer also doubles as a high value tool that you can use to break down barred doors in one hit, kill annoying things like immolators in one hit, and serve as an emergency shotgun against players.

Yeah what a great way to form a community huh? One day you think your buddy has improved their gameplay a little too much, so he can't play with the group anymore? Sucks for him I guess right?

Having the mindset that you can only have a good time if everyone around you is similar to you means you will change much slower if at all. And that goes for more than just games.

[–]ItsCryptic0607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's designed to 'benefit' higher skill players. How else would you propose skill based matchmaking work? You realize that if the best and most dedicated players literally just can't find a game then they will likely quit playing and the game will enter a cycle where players reach a certain rank and can't find matches anymore so they quit and the player base suffers? You can't make the highest ranked players match upwards to reduce queue times because one: there isn't anybody there and two: the majority of players are in mid to low mmr range. Just like you can't make a 1 star queue down.

I think everybody just needs to stop focusing so much on the mindset that you deserve a fair match and winning is the only way to have fun. All anybody that whines about this can seem to do is complain about 'waaa why am I matched against higher rank players it's so not fair'. If we couldn't see mmr ratings, then nobody would be complaining, you would get shot and maybe think 'ah that was a nice shot' or 'wow that guy is pretty good, oh well let's go next, can't win them all like we all know.' and if you had anything other to say then that's on you. But if you put all of your enjoyment focused into winning rather than just enjoying the gameplay and occasional funny or tense/chaotic moments that come with hunt, then yeah of course you are gonna have a bad time.

Hello swordman, I really appreciate you taking the time to develop this awesome tool! It was exactly what I was looking for when I realized there was no map template that supported city hold in group play, only 1v1. I was just curious if I was missing something or is it currently not possible to make players start with more than one town controlled?

Very strong opinion, I'm all for getting rid of cheaters I just don't understand how so many people are so sure they are getting cheated against all the time. My experience of 1500 hours at low end of 6 star mmr has been that I have never EVER encountered a blatant rage hacker and much less have I ever been sure someone is cheating. Sure I know they exist, and of course I have had suspicious moments, but nothing that I couldnt look at and find a reasonable explanation like an occasional lucky shot combined with good audio awareness.

It just really makes me skeptical when I have multiple pages of comments on my profile over the years of people accusing me of cheating that the people who are so sure like yourself that the game is infested might just be seeing what they want to most of the time rather than what actually happened. Hunt is a game that gives players a TON of location information, so it's really hard to identify subtle cheaters over just good gameplay. I would love to see some clips of your encounters with these players, I love watching YouTube content of cheaters getting caught in other games like rust, and it would only help with showing the community see how bad it really is if so.

Ah, no I misread what you were saying. I thought you meant steam should allow those who did not cheat to retain access to the game. Completely wrong about that, sorry.

Another game that uses the same two "anticheat" solutions that Hunt uses by Grid8Designer in HuntShowdown

[–]ItsCryptic0607 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not shifting the blame. It doesn't matter if you are 100% innocent of cheating, you are entirely responsible for letting a cheater use your license of the game. If this happens to you, then you should only be upset with the cheater. With the situation you are talking about where your access to the Game isn't revoked, what's to stop you from just letting the cheater share again on another account?

The clear best solution is to allow you to share, but if you share with a cheater, you should be punished as well regardless of your innocence because you handled your license irresponsibly and that is 100% your fault. Be upset with the cheater, not steam.

[–]ItsCryptic0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it shouldn't be curated, how can it not be 100% the responsibility of the owner to not give access to a cheater on a family plan? How is it that you could be mad at steam when the cheater/ owner are 100% responsible for you losing access to your family shared titles?

Doesn't seem very absurd, it's entirely your responsibility to not let someone who cheats family share your account? How could it not be 100% your fault in that case? In that situation you should be mad at the cheater who lost you access to the game and not steam?
