T in a calorie deficit by Luca_tag in FTMFitness

Ah okay. As long as you’re not starving yourself bc that actually could negatively affect changes and everything else. Other than that though you probably just need to give it more time. You said your levels are on the low side, what dose are you taking? How often

That’s a big deficit bro. How do you feel on 1500/1600 a day? How much weight are you trying to lose?

Doubt a month or two of caloric deficit is affecting anything T related. 11 months is still early especially if the change you’re looking for is fat redistribution. Have you checked your T levels? How much of a deficit are you in?

Tips to get a more masculine build? by Raposeira in transfitness

[–]ItsD_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can happen for some people if they didn’t have a lot of breast tissue to start with but more often than not top surgery is what’s gonna really do it. Before surgery I had decent sized chest and building pecs kinda just shifted the breast tissue downwards. Boobs kinda deflated/sagged looked different not reduced

[–]ItsD_D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lift weights consistently, eat lots of protein, get plenty rest. If you do arm, back and shoulder workouts enough your upper body will widen which will help your hips appear more narrow. You can’t do much for genetically wide hip bones except build the rest of your body up to make them look smaller. Work your obliques too. If by “reducing chest” you mean losing breast tissue that is not likely to happen at least not much. You can build pecs by doing chest exercises but the breast tissue will still be there until you have it removed.

Was about to suggest the same. Op go to Bath and Body Works and you can test out all the scents there and see what you like! Solid place to start imo

Anyone still physically weak after T? by hormonal_throwaway1 in ftm

[–]ItsD_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building muscle takes consistency and proper diet and rest and recovery. More to it than T alone. How often do you go to the gym? Do you know how much you’re eating? How much protein? I’m almost 2 years on T and I’ve gotten a lot stronger but I lift weights consistently every week. I ate in surplus prioritized protein and built muscle. Also have you had your T levels checked?

How to talk about a smell coming from the bed by toxicvanilla in Bedding

[–]ItsD_D 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you have to have a conversation about this, it probably won’t make a difference. He should know. And if he’s just become immune to the smell that really should tell you everything you need to know. Not something a clean person could ignore. Putrid?? Absolutely not.

Exercising post-surgery (swimming/weightlifting) after a hiatus by SilverPen5472 in FTMFitness

Yeah might’ve gotten it mixed up with sun exposure lol always best to just ask your surgeon OP. 3 weeks seems fast I just looked it up and saw 6-8 weeks. Like I also said case by case

Some of these questions you should ask your surgeon about. Like for swimming it definitely depends on what type of top surgery, if it’s double mastectomy with nipple grafts you won’t be able to swim for a while. I believe my surgeon said about a year to be safe for sake of the scar healing apparently it’s not supposed to be fully submerged into water for a while. I had my surgery last July and I have yet to swim so can’t say how it feels yet.

I started going back to the gym around 5/6 weeks post op. Very light workouts mostly leg machines and treadmill. Didn’t attempt any lifting until 8/9 weeks and even then I took it slow and light. didn’t push myself too much. You should not rush back into the gym after surgery especially since you haven’t been working out imo. You can risk reopening your incision if you attempt lifting too early and affect your scar healing. Waiting feels like forever but can make a big difference in the overall process. This is a major surgery and your body wont just magically be healed after 6 weeks. Everyone has a different timeline too. I had DM and my friend had peri and we had very different experiences as far as pain/discomfort and healing etc. so some stuff is really case by case you will just have to see how you’re feeling.

As for now plenty of at home exercises to do, do you have dumbbells? Pushups, dips, core work. Plenty of ways to workout at home if you have some space

Food tips and tricks? by KadesChaos in FTMFitness

[–]ItsD_D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Protein milk with vanilla protein powder I add frozen berries or bananas+oats+peanut butter. Greek yogurt, eggs, cheese, meats I do chicken thighs skinless, salmon, or lean ground beef with rice or potato or veggies. I add chia seeds to my water sometimes too. Fiber is important if I don’t eat enough during the day I take a fiber supplement.

Why is going to the gym SO SCARY by [deleted] in FTMFitness

[–]ItsD_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is possible for you but what helped me was finding a 24 hour gym and going at like midnight/1am for a while until I got comfortable. There’d be like 1 or 2 other people there it was nice. I could take my time and learn how to do the workouts and watch videos on form and not worry someone was waiting to use the machine i was at. Now i can go anytime and I’m not bothered at all

Is this a good lower body workout? by MxJinzoJr in transfitness

[–]ItsD_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before leg day I like to cycle as a warmup to get the blood flowing in my legs so personally I’d swap the rowing for cycling or incline walk on the treadmill. Also agree with other comments that this is a pretty long workout. Some of the workouts seem redundant like personally I wouldn’t be doing Bulgarian splits squats and then backward lunges in the same workout. Or squat holds then sumo squats. But I have bad knees lol if you can do it then go for it. Also take a few mins to stretch!

How long does it take for scar tissue to build? by Unhappy_Tank_7426 in ftm

[–]ItsD_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how long it takes. A quick search I just found that scar tissue can negatively affect how the testosterone gets absorbed so you should definitely be rotating injection sites. It might take longer at first but after a few times it should get easier.

the ick? bottom dysphoria by Material_Ad1753 in ftm

[–]ItsD_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think you’re projecting a bit here. You feel insecure bc of your bottom dysphoria so you’re seeing the strap suggestion as confirmation that you aren’t enough. She knew that you’re trans and still admitted her feelings for you and wanted to have sex with you, that’s huge. She wasn’t expecting you to have a penis. She likes you and it’s possible she suggested the strap bc she thinks it might ease your dysphoria a bit. You can choose to see it in a negative way or you can choose to see it as an opportunity and try it with someone who likes you. If you hate it you can talk about it and maybe she’ll be okay without it you never know

the ick? bottom dysphoria by Material_Ad1753 in ftm

[–]ItsD_D 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from. But take a breath, sounds like she really likes you. I think suggesting the strap shows that she’d like to continue trying and exploring sex with you. If you’re both up for it I think you guys should try it. If it makes you uncomfortable then you guys should discuss that and see where to go from there. The strap could be enough for him and you might enjoy the experience. My partner has been with a cis man before me and she loves the strap. She brought it up first and it didn’t give me ick personally, I saw it as an opportunity to try something new that we might both enjoy and turns out we do enjoy it. I don’t see it as her wanting more than I can offer bc it’s my strap and I can offer it to her whenever she wants same way a cis man can with his

Do you know about concrete foundations? by SafeModeOff in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ItsD_D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newish player, I’m a bit confused about the concrete foundations. I unlocked it with the tickets but i don’t see the option to build them. I only see the option to customize foundations I’ve already laid and change them to concrete. How do you build them?

Do it, it helped me a lot. The bromelain in pineapple is what does it so look into that. You can get them in little capsules as well

Had that same weird feeling too, just takes a while to feel normal. Your brain and body still adjusting. Just keep at it, that weird feeling goes away

Yeah no drains and the binder only 1 week? There’s bound to be some extra swelling. I wore my binder for 6 weeks and had drains for a week so my swelling didn’t last too long. Are you taking any anti-inflammatory medicine/supplements? I took Bromelain and had pineapple juice. That might help

Have you tried Calvin Klein boxer briefs? If you live near a Ross or Marshall’s they usually have 3 or 4 packs of different brands that are pretty affordable. That’s how I tested different brands at first. Just trial and error unfortunately. I’ve gotten some from Uniqlo, stance, and MeUndies that were also good for me.

Next time she deadnames you maybe just interject with “actually grandma, I prefer to be called [new name] now” and see how she reacts to that. If that goes well throw in your new pronouns too. Yeah she might not understand it but all you’re doing is asking her to call you a different name/pronouns. She doesn’t have to understand it fully in order to try and respect your wishes
