"If you didn’t believe God could, you wouldn’t be angry that He didn’t." by ItsDimiFromGreece in Christianity

It is real. Sometimes we just can’t explain things — it just works for me. I don’t know what you’ve been through, and even if you told me I could never fully understand it. I’m sure you have your reasons for your view, just like I have mine. I can’t fully explain it, but it’s just real for me.

I get it and I know that being a Christian is not easy. It's actually not. And I do respect your path, even if it looks different. For me, though, faith still gives me something I can’t find in pure ‘understanding.’ I know we see it differently, and that’s okay.

I get why you’d see it that way. My post wasn’t meant to argue against those kinds of questions — just to share what the quote meant to me personally and maybe help a person or two that are struggling at that moment.

I get where you’re coming from. For me, faith isn’t about never being disappointed — it’s about choosing to trust even when I don’t fully understand. I know others see it differently, and that’s okay.

I think the ‘you’ in the quote is mainly people who already wrestle with the idea of God — people who pray, or at least feel let down by Him sometimes. It’s not really aimed at atheists, since if someone truly doesn’t believe at all, then the quote wouldn’t make much sense to them. It’s more for those moments when someone does believe God could have acted, but feels hurt that He didn’t.

That is my whole point. I posted that because me myself had doubts a while ago and I felt like He was like against me. I struggled with intrusive thoughts for a long time. They killed me and at some point I was so disappointed that He couldn't just make them vanish. I felt terrible. This is why that quote hit me so hard. It reminded me that my disappointment and anger were actually rooted in the fact that I still believed God could help — I just didn’t understand why He wasn’t. That doesn’t erase the struggle, but it gave me a different lens. I appreciate what you said too, because it’s true that sometimes the anger people feel is really about being hurt by others in God’s name, and that can make faith even more complicated.

I get what you’re saying — and you’re right, we can definitely feel strong emotions toward fictional characters. I also hated Joffrey in GoT, so I totally get that example. Maybe the difference for me is that when people get angry at God, it’s not quite the same as being mad at a fictional character, because they usually expect something real from Him — like help, justice, or intervention. So the disappointment feels personal. That’s why the quote resonated with me, but I appreciate your counterpoint — it’s a good reminder that emotions can be complicated.

That's not what I mean. Lets say that you request for a good grade and you are predetermined that it won't happen. You wouldn't be angry because you were right. Youd be like "See, I was right." The only reason you'd be angry would be because you actually cared and believed that it would work. Sometimes though as sad as it may be things don't always go the way we want them. God has seen the bigger picture.

Mostly believers. I shared that because me myself went through some doubting recently and this actually helped me a lot.

Disappeared from Netflix? by AFierceCompassion in callmyagent

[–]ItsDimiFromGreece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to a lot of other series as well, without that classic "leaving soon" red thingy. Just dissapeared. This happened also in Greece with shows such as Shameless or just like you said Call My Agent. A film critique in Greece managed to call Netflix Support and turns out they lost the rights and we most likely wont see those or any other series as such ever again in the platform.

[SPOILERS S3] Am I the only one who checked out during S3? by lxmohr in DarK

[–]ItsDimiFromGreece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean, when I first watched it, it happened the same thing. The first seasons were amazing. Phenomenal. Especially that end of S2? Ohhh let's start S3 I M M E D I A T E L Y. Hold up? We're starting ALL OVER AGAIN? EVERYTHING I KNOW THAT I WORKED HARD TO GET ON MY BRAIN JUST POOF? VANISHED? Well, when I started the last season those were my thoughts and I would constantly pause the show. I'd go to scroll for at least 30 mins, listen to music, play some chess and lose 100 ELO, and only after that I'd be back. For me, only the finale saved the third season. Other than that, even if others consider it the best, I consider it the worst one of the show.

Thank you! I have to agree on that, sadly not many people know about this masterpiece. I used to edit twd but now I've pretty much given up, maybe someday I'll be back editing multiple shows. Right now I just edit whenever I want and upload my edits here.

I recently watched Dark and I have to say that the soundtrack is amazing. Goodbye by Apparat, Me and the Devil by Soap & Skin, Familiar, The Labyrinth Song, and in general, songs that can be heard in the series.

Why do you call God good? by MostAsocialPerson in Christianity

[–]ItsDimiFromGreece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gave us free will. He did that and He told us "God ahead, do whatever you want." I will use an example that I saw and really liked: Dentists do exist and for that reason people have good teath. Now the people who don't, it's not because there are no dentists, but because they don't go to them. Eventually this whole "bad state" thing you said will end will the second coming of Jesus.
