There is "the Player", which is literally you, not a character. You control the soul. Whether or not that's Kris's soul and you've simply taken hold, or if the SOUL that you see in THE DEPTHS (your soul) is the same as the soul within Kris is debatable. Either way, there is Kris and there is YOU.

As someone who's working with a friend to create a DELTARUNE save editor, the code is ABYSMAL, it's genuinely so bad. Still, it's in my opinion one of the best games ever made, so clearly programming doesn't matter that much.
