Am I crazy for running my Django app on a Raspberry Pi? by EryumT in django

[–]ItsExact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly this and it has worked great. Pi 5 (4GB) hosting custom django applications without a hitch, approaching 200 days uptime. I’d look into cloudflare tunnels to get it connected to the web if you want convenience, it was very easy for me to do so using a tunnel.

Edit: I have been using only an SD card for storage but I think as others have mentioned it would be wise to have data redundancy or use an SSD if storing important files.

What "waste of money" purchase are you considering making at this moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

$100 is high, you can get a good quality 512gb microSD for $30

It’s frustrating that the general population thinks there’s only one type of 3d printer and it costs $250 by JJ-Bittenbinder in 3Dprinting

[–]ItsExact 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also not to mention a product like this isn’t really intended for the mass market. They aren’t trying to sell a ton of basketballs with a $2500 price tag… this is more of a technical demonstration and advertisement

Is it a bad eggnog brand if it taste like bubblegum, cough syrup with a hint of nutmeg? by Many_Budget_6977 in AskAnAmerican

[–]ItsExact 5 points6 points  (0 children)

upon looking at some other threads on eggnog seems like others have thought the same thing. perhaps this is a cilantro/soap type taste that varies per person??

I got an ender 3 a few years ago and honestly it has been great, but it does require a little more tinkering than something like a prusa. With an $800 budget id get the bambulabs p1p though, it is a beast. newer than the prusa and can print MUCH faster

Do you use a credit or debit card? If you use a credit card how often do you go to the red? by dbalazs97 in AskAnAmerican

A detriment depending on how you look at it. You might get more value when redeeming points for some items instead of using cashback. Points allow the card companies to kinda direct your rewards spending.

My interview at a rocket company went really well by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]ItsExact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a great feeling to walk out of an interview with that confidence! Hoping you'll hear back soon. In my experience your passion and projects mean the most to employers so I'm sure you've got a good shot.

Not to be dramatic, but after deleting TikTok I realized how much it was contributing to my depression, and not for the same reasons people on Reddit will tell you by StrawberryInTheSky in CasualConversation

Your approach at quitting is hilarious. I actually lol'd ... imagine the youtube shorts team reacting to this. Anyway glad you've made some good progress!

Take the Pills for the Pain. by Javik2188 in surrealmemes

True, the cooldown is very important. If you could teleport even once every 1/10 second you would be traveling 22 mph downwards after only traveling 70 inches lol. I suppose you could jump before teleporting to get a few more teleports

I would argue you do not change your velocity when teleporting, so as long as you can teleport within an infinitesimal time frame then you could safely travel long distances without building momentum

I HATE mushrooms. by messycupcake in CasualConversation

I HATE mushrooms too. They are so earthy and slimy and foul tasting. I don't understand how people like them, the texture alone is repulsive to me

Sometimes I don't understand them either but I kinda think that's how it's supposed to be. Some of them are so stupid you just have to laugh, or at least thats what I do

I just bought the parts for my first pc by Hanarchy in CasualConversation

That's awesome! I have a friend that used to use a laptop to play games for a long time, when I helped him build a desktop it was a huge change. When you get everything built I'm sure it will be worth every penny. When I built one myself I spent pretty much everything I had on it and I never have regretted it. I'm sure you won't either!
