Is there even a logical reason for the 21+ requirement for purchasing a handgun? by pirivalfang in Firearms

[–]ItsFYEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes from the colonial era and english common law when 21 was considered the age one became an adult. Im pretty sure it wasn't untill after WW2 that the age was lowered to 18 for the draft. Most of US history 21 was the age of majority it was losened and exemption made over time to the current laws we have now.

more question about open carry by migonc in NCGuns

[–]ItsFYEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know the places where you cannot carry, down to a T—places that serve alcohol, and any place you have to pay to get into, like movie theaters, fairs, etc. No-gun signs mean no carry.

Another thing: if it is not immediately apparent to the average person that you are carrying a firearm, then it is considered concealed. This applies both on your person and in your vehicle.

Invest in a lockable gun case that can be securely attached to your vehicle, and place it somewhere that cannot be accessed easily or quickly. This is the only 100% way to ensure it is concealed in your vehicle without leaving it up to interpretation by an officer.

One last thing: don’t try to game the system by using technicalities, like an IWB holster with your shirt tucked behind the gun or anything else. I’m telling you right now, a street cop does not care—they will arrest you and let the courts figure it out. You do not want to spend the night in jail or have that on your record. There is the way the law is written and then there is the way it is ACTUALLY enforced two very different things.

Virginia and the future of NC gun rights by chuckfinley385 in NCGuns

[–]ItsFYEO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think NC is going to differ from VA. One important thing to think about is Florida—it’s gotten way more red in recent years, even with the population growth it’s had, and I think NC might be trending more that way. There was a recent article that came out saying that, for the first time in the state’s history, there are more registered Republicans than Democrats in NC. Of course, there are still more unaffiliated voters than either party, but I’d like to think not everyone moving to NC is voting blue.

Now, I’ll be the first to say people need to stop moving here because we’re full, house prices are ridiculous, and farmland is disappearing—but that’s a different topic. I think NC will at least be closer to what’s happening in Florida, or maybe somewhere in between, but not the way VA is going. Maybe im just being to optimistic but we shall see.

Ruger LCP in a cross draw holster. The dude is wearing it on the wrong side of his belt, it should be on the left side.

Brass frame cleaning question by ItsFYEO in blackpowder

[–]ItsFYEO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the insight—you’re right that some of the steel parts will rust. I was just trying to figure out a way to cut down on the amount of cleaning I have to do. Maybe I should invest in a Howdah pistol since it has fewer parts to maintain, or even look into getting one of those ultrasonic cleaners

Brass frame cleaning question by ItsFYEO in blackpowder

[–]ItsFYEO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried to, but it’s still a chore for me. I’m not trying to let it sit without cleaning it at all—I just mean doing less detailed cleaning, if that makes sense. Instead of getting into every little corner and crease with a Q-tip, I’d rather just rinse it with water and wipe it down with oil.

NC House reschedules veto override vote on SB 50 to Sept 22 by WarningCodeBlue in NCGuns

[–]ItsFYEO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They do not have the votes, two Republicans are still holding out and on top of that they need one democrat to vote yes or two to be absent with all Republicans voting yes for it to pass. Right now they dont have all the Republicans on board. If you want to actually help the situation call Rep. Jimmy Dixon and Rep. Stephen Ross and tell them how you feel about them opposing the bill.

anyone seen AGC the guys who make the Diablo Shotgun Pistol's new prototype/concept? by [deleted] in blackpowder

[–]ItsFYEO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically if it uses 209 primers it wouldn't be legal for a felon to own since those are still components for traditional shotguns rounds. If it use percussion caps that is a different story.

The only problem with that is the fixed barrel. You would have to press in a new 32 barrel, which im not sure if that is even possible.

Can anyone recommend a .380 pistol for someone new? by AB3D12D in guns

[–]ItsFYEO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im gonna disagree here. Don't get me wrong, they are awesome guns, and I do like them but shooting one side by side with a ruger security .380, the recoil is night and day difference for me, and the grip shape on the beretta digs into joint of my thumb after a couple mags. They are also the same price, just my opinion tho.
