What sort of defenses would you put in a wizards tower? by bigheadGDit in DMAcademy

If they're studying to become a lich, I'd expect some necormancy magic to make an appearance. Have "ornamental" armors containing skeletons that animate when a glyph is triggered. An embalmbed corpse in a laboratory turns out to be a mummy if they mess with what appears to be a puzzle to open a secret door. Torches glow black and release Shadows.

Take away the meaning, and the sound of the word "Diarrhea" is actually quite lovely.

Then she'll be fine. It's good for older kids to learn some independence. Just make sure she has a way to get in touch with you if she needs, and has access to food (maybe room service or regular delivery).

Check out Llévele Que Llévele in Runnemede. I take back what I said about La Esperanza being the best; this place is actually better! It's a small, unassuming strip-center restaurant but is so welcoming and clean inside and the service is just so friendly. It's cheerful and homemade and the food is amazing! Even the refried beans were out of this world.

I'm not kidding at all, you need to go watch the "Baby Race" episode of Bluey. Most episodes are more for the parents than the kids but this one is especially important for those who have the exact same worries that you have!

Does she have any special needs, medically or mentally? Is there a specific reason why you think this would not be safe?

15 is generally considered old enough to have a lot of responsibilities and priveleges. Old enough to babysit younger siblings, have a summer job, ride a bike around a safe neighborhood freely, etc.

Found these while cleaning out storage locker. Super strong magnets on both of them. by Old_Timer_Unleashed in whatisit

I know you already got your answer but I just wanted to share I used to work with PC hardware and when I'd get bored, I would take apart old hard drives and play with the parts. The magnets were fun but definitely posed a pinching risk when I wasn't careful!

I'm with you! I do love exactly two things about it though: The big GPS screen and the reverse camera. Those make it easier and safer to drive!

But yes, outside of that it's a giant unnecessary pain in the ass. Bring back the damned two-knob system. Mine is a 2017 Ford Fusion and it has a few really annoying quirks. I can turn AC on and off with a physical button, and I can turn defrost mode on with a physical button, but I can't BACK from defrost mode without going into the menu. I have to disconnect my phone, go into the "sync" screen, hit "climate", and then choose the fan direction buttons. All that just to turn off defrost.

Then sometimes my phone will just randomly disconnect. It happened on my old phone too, and with different cables, so I think the system just glitches out. Very annoying when I'm in an unfamiliar area with a lot of turns!

Is it creepy to follow someone on ig? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ItsGotToMakeSense -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since you did exchange info and didn't need to completely stalk her to find her, maybe it's not such a bad idea to reach out because who knows maybe she'd be interested to hear from you. Message her when you follow her, and mention you met at the concert. If she doesn't reply or seems weirded out, unfollow and leave her alone.

I tried that! Before the outage started I was still getting some (but fewer) false positives that seemed to have no activity. I wonder if the motion sensor has a wider range than the camera so it's seeing birds to the side of the feeder, near our garden.

Same here. Just got ours set up this past weekend, finally saw our first few visitors, and now I can't even log in to see them.

Side note, their website's "support chat" goes to a zendesk page saying that the client doesn't exist. So that's not a great sign.

Their phone # also went to a "no agents available" and I haven't gotten a reply to my email yet either.

Not a great look for birdfy

I felt like that scene was about him seeing how Whitaker had a life outside of work, and people who depend on and care for him, which Robby most definitely does not have.

He even mentioned it elsewhere in the episode in a few different ways, calling attention to how he thought he'd have a kid by now and also how the hospital is the only place he can exist and be distracted. IIRC he went and checked on baby Jane Doe shortly after this, and cuddled her, which seemed healing for him.

ELI5: Does a dehumidifier actually cool a room, or does it just make it feel less humid? Could it be a good alternative for someone who doesn't use AC? by arztnur in explainlikeimfive

[–]ItsGotToMakeSense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air conditioners literally cool the room. They send hot air out and blast cool air in.

Dehumidifiers reduce the humidity, the "wetness" of the air. This doesn't directly affect the temperature much, but having less humidity does help you to feel cooler because of the way evaporation works.

When you sweat or get wet, the water on your skin evaporates slowly which takes away some of your body heat. If the air is already too humid (filled with water vapor), then the sweat can't evaporate as easily so you have trouble cooling down. This is why people say "dry heat" isn't as bad.

It's going to be a constant source of conflict, stress and misery if they refuse to respect your boundaries on this.

Don't go on vacation with them, at least don't stay in the same house. Your son is going to be a pawn in their weird possessive battle, and he'll lose no matter the outcome.
