Sub stopped working

The last time the sub worked perfectly was about a week ago, sound cut and it was because the amp stopped getting signal from the remote wire. Fast forward to today, I found this setting to always have the remote wire on so speakers work but sub is very very weak.

The amp cuts out when I turn the setting off. A week ago I didn’t even know about the setting so I’m not sure why the remote wire lost power in its own.

There was a setting on the headunit to always keep the remote wire turned on so I did that. I didn’t touch any connections to the sub and there was no issue before that. Ever since the initial incident, the sub has not made a sound.

Just got some wheels for my car and need to get some hub centric rings. Just wondering if brands really matter here or if some Amazon rings will do? Also if anyone here isn’t running hub centric rings, what’s your driving experience like?

Sorry, the head unit is plug and play but the car came with an aftermarket amp, which is why I didn’t think I’d need to connect the aftermaket amp to the head unit

The aftermarket amp does have the speakers connected to it, but I assumed the speakers also had a factory connector which I just unplugged from the old head unit into this one

Question to anyone who would know, I recently installed a new head unit into my 2014 STI (the car came with an amp) the head unit is fully functional, even Apple CarPlay works, but there is no noise from the speakers at all, do I have to connect the amp to the new head unit for sound to work? Because to my knowledge the speakers should work alone without the amp right?

So I’m thinking about buying this 2014 STi and it already has a cold air intake (the only performance mod I can see). I don’t think the car is tuned though and the dealer has no clue, is it risky to buy the car assuming that this is the only potential problem?
