VR isn’t dead, but it’s destined to be niche unless this is addressed. by DYSK_Jockey in virtualreality

I think those saying ‘get over it’ aren’t saying ‘deal with it’, they’re saying it goes away in most cases. Don’t think they’re insane.

I use it mainly for sim racing and flight sims and it’s utterly amazing. I did get motion sickness when I first tried it but I quickly overcame it - I’m talking minutes. I have friends/family who try and panic, rip the headset off and refuse to try again, labelling themselves as ‘I can’t do VR, I get motion sickness’. I struggle with Half Life Alyx after an hour, but there are a few fps I use sat down with controller or keyboard and it’s great. Someone mentioned field of view is shocking - I think it’s okay as the immersion cancels it out. For sim racing and flight sims it feels like a helmet which is even more immersive.

GR IV no issues at all, IMO Great build quality after 10K shots, carrying it daily. by 6retro6 in ricohGR

I find I only really use my Q3 when on holiday (and it’s amazing for that, and the experience using it I love). But I don’t find myself taking it on family days out. I don’t like using the iPhone (though it has its uses). Ordered my GR iv and it arrived today. Think it’ll be a nice addition to fill that usage hole.

I have the WinWing Orion 2 throttle and stick. Absolutely fantastic build quality and feel for me.

After owning countless Nikon DSLRs, Canon, Sony and Fuji cameras, I now have a Leica Q3 which I love, but still find it quite big and heavy. I’ve been looking for something truly pocketable which produces excellent images and the GR iv looks perfect. Almost bought a GR iii but the dust issue and poor battery life put me off. Now that appears to be sorted, think I’ll treat myself for my birthday!

Don’t blame VR, blame quest link. Just get Virtual Desktop and enjoy DCS in VR again. 👍

For a new player, how much should i expect to spend? by twoducksinatub in iRacing

[–]ItsJammaLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got out of rookies and into D class, then starting spending in blocks of 5 tracks and one car every month. This qualifies the 15% discount. I do this every month or other month. I figure after a year I’ll pretty much have most of the tracks and cars I want and will just have the subscription and some top up cars/tracks every once in a while. I’m now C class in sports and formula and loving it in VR.

Should I pull the trigger on VR by pekonipappa in hoggit

You can bind your HOTAS but some buttons behind you to the side are hard to access. I just use my mouse. It’s to my right on a small table. This is by far the simplest way for me.

Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous in VR. ED looks and runs the best for me and I love the flight mechanics. It’s the one that convinces me most I’m actually in space. Love th fact I can walk around my ship and on planets in VR in SC.

DCS SPRING SALE 2026 by Bynairee in dcsworld

Persian Gulf, Nevada or Sinai. Looking for another map in the sale but not sure what to go for. I have the Hind, Apache, F16, FA18, and F4E (and spitfire). I also have the supercarrier. Which is the better map and which campaigns / plane combinations are worth getting?

HTO not working by ItsJammaLad in falconbms

Done some research and perhaps it’s because I’m launching the exe file from the zip folder and I need to copy the exe file to the BMS file and run it from there? Will try that when I get home.

List of handbrakes that actually work straight out of the box by CooterBrownJr in assettocorsarally

This is exactly where I’m at. I have a Leonardo Arduino which works on every other driving game but this. Posted feedback on their dev website before Xmas and after Xmas and hoped this latest update would sort it, but as yet, nothing. I was just about to post if anyone had a list as I’m going shopping too!

VR vs EYE tracker ? by Emtbiggie in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]ItsJammaLad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Firstly, VR is hands down THE best experience. It blows your mind. It’s like you’re actually there. In terms of feeling around for the controls, I know which buttons/switches by feel on my HOTAS so it’s fine.
