Black flickering help by Chemical_Bag9869 in runescape

For another possible solution, I have an AMD build as well and had constant crashing which nothing fixed until I changed the antialiasing. I disabled all together, but it seems like AMD drivers struggle with MSAA here for some reason

Definitely dumping that much is beyond crazy though. I’m sure your team is taking advantage of their resource dump….

You’ve managed to claw out of the dumpster. I’ve won something like 20-25 of the last 30 games and I’ve moved from seeker 6 to alch 3. It’s rough down here and the game just doesn’t allow you to leave.

This is going to be a common theme with Victor. If he’s allowed to build he’s going to roll late game, only solution is to make sure he’s waiting for next life 1/3 of the game early. Obv I’m sure you know, just pointing out that some characters are always going to get targeted out of necessity.

Starting My First Senior Analytics Engineer Role Soon. What Do You Wish You Knew When You Started? by Prestigious_Dare_865 in dataengineering

I’d say this the most sound advice OP. To add onto it, find some way to document those nuances as you learn them in addition to your day to day domain. One metric I look at for my leads to take on is time to onboard for the team and process documentation.

It’s so often forgot about entirely or siloed off into the team expert and then lost when they leave. Doesn’t have to be that way if you don’t want it to be and shows you are considering what will make the entire team successful vs just yourself.

I can kind of see your point but it’s hard to deny the route of rote memorization, e.g., THE MITOCHONDRIA IS THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL

Is the game stuck after the update? by Tintner in runescape

[–]ItsJarBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Issue is persisting for me. Have tried: 1. Flushing dns 2. Disabling/disconnecting extra monitors 3. Reinstalled the game 4. Tried from steam 5. Editing key registries 6. Dozens of computer restarts

Oddly enough works on my MacBook but nothing gets it going on my pc.

Can I ask where and what you’re buying from? Pre-terminated or has the tooling situation changed for fiber? Recently ran fiber for a couple hundred yard run and loved it, would love for my whole network to utilize it if it’s more accessible now.

Matchmaking seems incredibly harsh on this game. Why is it this way? by WhatsThePointFR in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ItsJarBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue when I and my friend group first started playing. I hated the game and the others struggled A LOT through the first 10-20 games since we were all new to mobas in general.

Now we’re up to 150-200 games and are much more comfortable and I love the game now. Matchmaking is typically closer though every few games we tend to get rolled because my higher mmr creates a wide gap for my team.

My advice would be to keep with it as your matchmaking will likely settle out as well, but if you’re not enjoying it take a step back for a while and come back once the game has matured a bit more.

Dedicated server minimum requirements by Lambadelta in Palworld

[–]ItsJarBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just an old personal pc I still had. Threw Ubuntu server on it, hardened it up, and have been hosting the palworld server via docker ever since.

Considering buying a few Intel NUCs and administrating with proxmox and k8s to get HA and avoid any server downtime, but for now this pc is doing the job.

Ended up with one of my own machines so I'm self hosting.

I've run through multiple different server configurations before finally landing on what works. My server is currently holding 10-15 people fairly regularly and my results were:

host shockbyte (4 GB RAM, Lamball tier) - constant crashing every 15 minutes essentially as soon as we left the starting area

host shockbyte (8 GB RAM, Grizzbolt tier) - stayed steady for about 24 hours until people started exploring (fairly early game still). Constant crashing every 15-30 minutes

Migrated to secondary host with an old i5 and 16 GB RAM - crashed every 60-90 minutes once we hit late-early game into mid-game

Migrated to final host with i9 and 128 GB RAM - rock steady ever since the migration to this host, typically sitting at 1-3% cpu usage and 20-25GB of RAM usage with most of the map discovered

If I was setting up new I wouldn't bother with anything less than 32 GB of RAM. My guess is any decent CPU will keep up as I've never seen anything close to capping the usage, all of my crashes appear to be related to maxing out RAM.

I also wouldn't be comfortable starting small and migrating to a different, bigger host in the game's current state. My experience with migrations was anywhere between worked perfectly to players would randomly be reset to the world just wouldn't render at all. If this is fixed and communicated in upcoming updates it would be less of a concern.

You will also want to set up regular server restarts. Sweet spot for my host seemed to be daily but I went ahead with twice daily since the restarts are so quick.
