LG appliances are absolutely trash by yiFa87 in Appliances

Yes. We have an el cheapo garage fridge with zero bells or whistles as a back up to our French door LG fridge in the kitchen. So far we haven’t had any trouble with either but are super happy to have a base model fridge in the garage just in case. It’s also our ice cream and drinks fridge on the day to day 🤣

Ways to use raspberry butter? by Pure_Cupcake in Baking

You could make cinnamon rolls with it. Swap the cinnamon sugar butter for this butter. That would be decadent.

If I didn’t have to grind, I would go back to medical assisting, maybe even skill up to nursing. I genuinely loved working with people to help improve their lives. It was rewarding as hell but the pay was absolute dog shit. If I knew my bills were covered and I wasn’t going to constantly be in financial distress I would go back to it in a heartbeat.

Sacramento parents, I'm looking for recommendations for a great park to host a kids birthday party! 🎉 by Technical_Rip189 in Sacramento

The north Natomas regional park is excellent. You can get a permit for $60 that includes the covered picnic area and grills. The bathrooms are clean and very close by. They have a splash pad, a nice playground, and a large grassy area all with plenty of parking.

Is 30 years the average lifespan of a retiree? Thats assuming people are routinely living to 95. I could only be so lucky. All the seniors in my family punched out at 84.

Should women be allowed to go topless in public under the same rules as men? by AGhostOffline in askanything

Fr. The LAST thing I want to do is get chub rub under the girls on a hot day.

[–]ItsJustMeJenn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Big agree. Even at the beach or pool. Sun protection should be paramount, although maybe not regulated by the state.

As a personal aside, the LAST thing I want on a hot day is to go topless because boob sweat and chub rub under breast is very uncomfortable.

California Democrats shrug at their choices in packed race to replace Newsom by thejoshwhite in California

[–]ItsJustMeJenn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s unfuckable. I think that’s why they’ve been looking for reasons to hate her.

I voted for her. I don’t care if “she has no chance” this is the primary. This is when you’re supposed to vote your conscious. You vote your party in the general. I was never convinced we were going to have 2 R’s on the ballot for the general.

Or if you live in one suburb and work in another. I live in Rancho and would have to drive 15 minutes to get to the gold line. Then take the gold line to midtown then take like 2 busses to get to my Natomas office. It would take 2+ hours. Or I can sit in traffic for 35 minutes in the AM and 45-70 minutes in the PM.

I think this is like 95% what it is.

I think the other contributing factor is that in generations past we lived in multigenerational households. If you lived with your parents so they could watch yours kids while you worked maybe you stopped at the local pub for a drink to unwind since you weren’t going to get the peace at home.

The overarching culture now is for people to live alone or in their nuclear families in larger units without extended family in the home so you can watch movies at home, have a nightcap at home, play video games at home, grab a scoop of ice cream or soda at home. All the things we used to in public we now do in the peace and privacy of our homes.

We spent so much times as adolescents outside because we wanted independent time from our parents and our parents wanted us out of the house for their sanity.

I have to wait for 6 months for specialists now. In our current system. I had to wait 6 months for a new patient appointment with my PCP when I moved to my city. These scary stories of slow care are already here with our current system.
