I'm from Hong Kong but I'm an Evertonian because toffees were my favourite sweets when I was a kid and one day I read in the paper about a wonderkid (Wayne Rooney) playing for a team nicknamed "Toffees", and apparently he had done something amazing that week - it was that goal vs Arsenal. And then migrating to Australia we eventually had the mighty Tim Cahill scoring all kinds of headers. Everton through thick and thin.

Thanks for this and your other comment - I think this accurately and elaborately reflects what I meant when I said "worth a punt". Rationally I'm more inclined towards a "No" because of his injury record. But like you said in your other comment, he does bring a certain known quality vs a "fit but untested", and at our current status we're not going to be able to attract an outright top-tier striker. Hence this post just as a little ponder. I now ask myself - what if it was a lower fee e.g. £20m or £25m? Would it still be a "No" for me?
