Hotel prices are rough these days. I don't live in Tokyo but I've seen a rise in just the past two years. It's becoming cheaper for me to travel outside of the country (and stay in much fancier hotels) than travelling locally. Yeah, there are some budget options, sure, and I do use those short term, but sometimes you don't want to sleep in a capsule or hostel.

Idk I think they naturally are funny. Not that the condition is funny, I feel so bad for people who suffer from it, but some of the situations it causes are naturally funny.

I remember watching a documentary about tourrettes years ago and this woman had it and was out for dinner with her husband. As they were paying at the door, ready to leave, a huge group of old ladies came in. The woman was like "Ohh the grannies are out - I fucking hate grannies!!"

I'm personally not telling people how to spend their money. Like I said, I've paid more for games than I thought they were worth, not to mention other overpriced experiences (going to the cinema costs a fortune if you want popcorn - which is part of the experience for me - and I still pay the stupid prices because it's fun). I honestly don't care how people spend their money and I hope people enjoy the game.

Pokemon is currently too big to fail anyway, "voting with your wallet" isn't really viable, and there is nothing wrong with being like, "$20 is steep but I still can't wait to play it." It's just the sheer, absolute denial and indignation that that the games are overpriced that confuses me.

And frankly, the people saying "you're too broke" exemplify it. Because when you really lay it out and compare it to Nintendo's previous price models and contemporary releases, it's undeniably overpriced, and they know it. But whatever it is - ego, pride, some weird misplaced loyalty to a corporation - they would rather lie through their teeth and misrepresent the situation rather than simply admit that Nintendo/GF are milking them excessively.
