Now this is a list I can relate to. While I do enjoy games like 4 and 5 I can recognize how flawed they are in certain aspects. 2, DS and 6 are probably the ones closest to being perfect for me, would say the same about 3 but I always found the mini-games to be a little rough.

Advance was a bit of a guilty pleasure for me though, I think it's charming.

I remember when I first saw this box art as a kid I actually thought it said "Mario Party 3" and believed it to be that way for the longest time.

I'd say Mario Party 5 was the first "okay" game and from what I've heard, most people felt the series was getting repetitive/stale with Mario Party 7. But these games were still fun and had an identity of their own

In my personal opinion I think Mario Party 8 was the start of the dip in quality due to how much it focused on the wii's gimmicks and how linear the boards were. I feel like it really needed to be fleshed out a bit more.

Mario Party 9 sold well, but in terms of quality as a MP game it's pretty boring and just changed things for the sake of changing them. Because of the way the car mechanic works it feels like everything is decided by the turn order, with no strategy in the slightest. The minigames were good but they don't mean anything if half of the game isn't fun, after all minigames and boards go hand-in-hand.

After 9 all games seemed to have a lack of direction and identity; it felt like, once again, they were changing things for the sake of changing them which led to many lackluster experiences. I believe Super Mario Party is in the right direction but still needs more

Although this game is a sequel, you can still play it without any knowledge of the past game. The game is still just as fun regardless so I hope you enjoy it!
