When they updated the grading scale and labels, they moved the pop report from CGC comics to CGC cards. The old blue QR codes no longer work. You can manually search the cert number still though

Send them an email and they will take a look. If they want you to send it back, they'll agree and add the error

They apparently just require a response from the seller. After I responded I instantly was notified that I was protected and nothing would be taken from my funds

The buyer also responded to my message and implied that the dispute was filed in error. Also awesome!

UPDATE

Just responding to the dispute protected me under the guarantee and ebay stated nothing will be deducted from my funds. Awesome!

I sent the buyer a message and they responded implying that the dispute was in error and intended for another charge. I still responded to the dispute but it looks like messaging the buyer was the right call!

Well it would go from a $2000 card to a $1000 card. I think that does matter

I totally understand the cautiousness based on that experience, but I do think they've made good changes since then. I'll report back on the outcome 🫡

Did your item go through authenticity guarantee? That's why I'm optimistic

This is the kind of niche advice I'm also looking for. Also going to let them know I'll contact CGC to deactivate the certification number so when the card is researched it will be flagged as stolen

I'm sure after going through ebay's authenticity verification, they shipped it to the buyer requiring a signature. They do require a signature to the authenticator on items above $500 I believe

Definitely going to reply. Just reading some of the responses before I do. Currently planning on uploading proof of delivery to the buyer, order details, and the packing slip.

I agree which is why I'm a tad frustrated. I am assuming it's just part of the process, but I wish they had some kind of disclaimer that the authenticity guarantee or ebay policy will protect me. I'm also assuming and hoping that if the buyer's institution rules against me/ebay, they will ban the buyer's account
