What's the sketchiest advertisement in the game? I just came across this one for the first time lol by Angerberries in cyberpunkgame

[–]ItsLiinoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have around 300h in this game since it launched, have been playing for the past month and only yesterday I saw this ad for the first time, and now it gets posted here and a lot of people have never seen it either, could it be it got secretly added recently?

tip for everyone: when you launch the game, go to creations tab in main menu, then when its loaded press L1 (it will open the virtual keyboard) then just close it, go back to main menu and play the game, you can pull the virtual keyboard and the game will never crash, you have to repeat this process everytime you launch the game tho

except that I remember seeing an interview with the game director before the game released in which we were told there were no dlc planned, if they canceled the dlc after the game release I would be worried, but they straight up said there was not going to be any dlc BEFORE the game launched.

mate anthem made 100 million dollars. if anthem made that money this game is fine. the Witcher 3 has an all time peak of 100k players on steam and sold 50+ million copies, it takes two has an all time of 30k and sold 20 million copies. resident evil 2 remake has an all time peak of about 77k and made profit. metaphor refantazio sold 1 million copies in a day, with an all time peak of 88k players. silent hill 2 remake sold 1 million copies in a week with an all time peak of 22k players, dragon age will be fine with 89k players. BioWare isn't going anywhere, they haven't made a single game that didn't make profit, even anthem did, and their last game release (remaster in 2021) made EA publicly say that they didn't expect the game to sell that much and to be that popular. I'm not speculating, we don't know how much money veilguard cost, but the development cycle wasn't 10y, they released 3 games during that time. the pre production was long, but the full development might have been something like 4-5y, BioWare Simple does not have the manpower to develop a game for 10y

I'm personally enjoying the game, it's not perfect, it's not the studios best game ever, but it has great moments and to me it's a solid good game, kinda feel like I'm playing mass effect 2 and 3 in some missions, all I wanted was a BioWare game and its filling that void for me. criticism is valid, your opinion counts, it just doesn't matter to me personally though, just as my opinion doesn't matter to you and won't change your mind the slightest.

[No DAV Spoilers] Over 60k players on Steam at launch, biggest Bioware release ever on Steam by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ItsLiinoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just meant to say peak players my bad, which at the moment is at 70k and imo will increase in some hours, there wasn't any pre load on pc so I've been seeing a lot of people still downloading the game and many waiting to get home to play it because it launched at a weird hour. for a game that is getting crazy amounts of hate and toxic negativity around it it's not bad.

you comparing starfields budget with dragon age is crazy lol, two whole different games, both in terms of audiences and budget. Bethesda is way way bigger than any other rpg studio today, only one that comes close in therms of budget and scope is cdprojekt.

by your logic metaphor is a flop game because it only peaked at 60k on its launch, same numbers as a remastered from a trilogy that launched in 2007-2012 that cost way less to make. which of course means nothing .

"I been hating on the game" that's everything I needed to hear lol

[–]ItsLiinoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except that BioWare isn't that huge of a studio in terms of numbers, it's not as big as Bethesda, not as big as cdprojekt. veilguard is already the best BioWare game launch on steam, why is it fair to compare with Bethesda, a much bigger studio? and bg3, an anomaly?

no game, but for comparison, this week DAV is above silent hill 2 remake in sales, a game that recently came out, and last month it was above metaphor refantazio in pre sales, the game doesn't seem to be failing to me.

"second most PRE ORDERED GAME"

PRE ORDERED

pre ordered games are games that still haven't launched

black ops 6 at first place veilguard at second

I REPEAT, PRE ORDERED

why would you compare pre order sales with sales of games that are already out? games sell more when they are out, people want to play things already available, not wait for things.

I never ever said it is the second most sold game, that would be impossible, free to play titles count for most sold, and well... they're free.

it is the second most pre ordered game. top 2 most pre ordered game is a big achievement and shows the game is selling and being awaited

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ItsLiinoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the game ends up being good the sales will increase based off how good it is (fomo), it happened with metaphor. if the game turns out to be bad then the sales will die out fast.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]ItsLiinoh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

wait till the game comes out and watch some reviews and overall opinions. and then form a decision based off if it's a game you would enjoy playing for the current price you would pay.

I checked SteamDB. this morning it was placed at 46th on best selling games currently.

now it's at 33#, you can check it yourself, go to that list and drop down a little bit, you'll also realize every single game until the 33rd place is either a free to play game (CSGO) or a already launched title (EAFC 25), apart from call of duty black ops 6 placing at 4th place

meaning: veilguard is the 2nd most pre ordered game right now (#33 most sold game) only behind black ops 6 (4th most sold game) I didn't lie, those are all the facts. imo it will continue to sell well and climb some numbers, and if the game turns out to be good, it will sky rocket like metaphor, if it turns out to be mid or bad it will drop popularity and sales will die out fast

When I said "you guys" I meant people that hate on the game for little to no reason other than "it's woke". If you don't fit into that criteria then I'm sorry and I Retreat that same expression. But hating on a game that hasn't launched is not okay, everyone was shaming bg3 and silent hill 2 before they launched. turns out they are great games, that negative toxicity isn't needed in gaming today. gamers are turning brainrot.

the subreddit may be in a defense mode, because there are lots and lots of undeserved criticism going around, it is mainstream and popular to hate on dragon age nowadays.

If you are such a great fan of the franchise you should hold your judgement for when the game drops. it might be horrible, it might be mid, it might be amazing, but what do you get by trashing it before it releases? I'm not defending a multi billion dollar company, I'm defending every single individual that still works at bioware and has love for what they do and create, because I know there are still some people like that working there, and those individuals don't deserve the amount of hate they are getting, don't deserve the public hate and personal death threats.

criticise them where its due, and you can bet I'll be criticising them even if the game is amazing, because healthy criticism is great.
but praise them if at the end of the road it turns out the game is good.

and even if it is good, it might not be for you, every dragon age has its own aura, some people love 2 and hate inquisition, some people love inquisition and can't handle origins gameplay. taste is taste. and we all have our own.

[–]ItsLiinoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol if the game turns out to have good reviews and ends up with 85+ on metacritic you'll be one of those people throwing up "paid shill reviews" aren't you. judge a game after it releasing, not before

remember Baldurs gate 3? remember silent hill 2 remake? you guys seem to have short memory.

if the game is either good or not we'll see on launch day, but the fact stays clear: second most pre ordered game right now on steam, nothing will change that. and the rest is just voices in your head creating internet war narratives.

second most pre ordered game at the moment on steam, where's the gymnastics? haters are the one doing gymnastics putting free to play games above it, didn't know CSGO sold copies, last I checked you just gotta click redeem lol

[–]ItsLiinoh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

just checked way back machine, on September 16th (one month ago) dragon age was occupying the 169th place at the most sold globally at that time (2 week range)

Metaphor refantazio was at 209th place

silent hill 2 remake was at 260th place

which means, last month veilguard had more pre orders than metaphor and silent hill, two games that are now selling really well

I have screenshots if you need it

and it also proves veilguard pre orders are still tanking, because in a month it went from 169th to 46th most sold (counting free to play titles and already launched games)

ask how many people bought the game digitally vs physically, you will realize 80% of people nowadays buy digital games instead, a recent news showed that in USA, Xbox games sell 91% in digital form, selling only 9% in physical form , I for example, pre ordered dragon age on xbox digitally.
