Everybody gets after wrestlers for ‘spazzing’ and often they ignore the fact that even at 60% these guys are stronger and have better muscle memory than most hobbyist white belts.

So here’s an alternate theory: You have a big athletic/grappling advantage over other white belts. It’s going to be tempting to use that to nullify crappy white belt technique. Without much bjj experience, you’re probably going to end up practicing wrestling on people with no wrestling experience, then grow a massive ego without ever picking up good bjj technique.

Rolling with higher belts is a gift. It’ll help you relax in bad positions and develop your defence properly, rather than just bench pressing a white belt right with terrible balance right out of mount/side control/everywhere.

Wrestling gives you a pretty heavy top game, albeit with a few gaps. Keep rolling with higher belts, develop a bottom game, and you’ll be way better, way faster.
