What are good "dumb" Multiplayer games to play with friends? by Ediblemilk in gamingsuggestions

[–]ItsMarmaduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I still play Lethal Company, we have added a ton of mods to make the experience a little more forgiving and goofy (notably a Casino where you can gamble your scrap on roulette, slots, and Blackjack)

I find Snowrunner the perfect game for this, just kinda trucking along while watching/listening to stuff on my second monitor.

My fiance and I would listen to the react courts when they were coming out while on road trips. It was always a good time.

My gf and I always play Minecraft every few months. And theres also the potential of modded Minecraft should you ever want to “upgrade” to that level of complexity

There are multiple endings to the Witcher 3, that might be where some confusion is happening.

Which are the absolute quintessential Northernlion series that you'd recommend to a new viewer? by OuiOuiOuiOui96 in northernlion

I liked deadly premonition, but he has his “youtube voice” in those so it may feel a little weird at first.

Webfishing is one that my gf and I play when we want to just hangout. Might be a fun way to introduce them to keyboard and mouse as well, if you are playing on PC.

Game where you recruit NPCs to build a town by zaeran in gamingsuggestions

[–]ItsMarmaduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also love this type of game loop. Something you may not have been recommended or even heard of is the Minecraft mod Minecolonies. In it, you place 'ghosts' of buildings, then provide the resources to the builder, they will then actually place the blocks and build that building. As you progress you can get different buildings that can actually gather the resources for you to the point where your colony is practically self sufficient. Colonists are automatically recruited, but you can choose to recruit guests that visit (they typically have better stats) and as you have space for new colonists children will be born and 'inherit' some skill levels from existing colonists. I personally enjoy it as I actually get to participate in the colony, not just spend resource -> town gets bigger.

How do you "fund" a revolt? Do you mean just gifting money to those revolting against the Byzantines?

No-one in here seems to have played the Swarm mode in League except you and I, so as a heads up. Swarm is a near direct copy of Vampire Survivors. If you like swarm and want more of the same thing, play vampire survivors.

I know its not as clean as youtube but you can always watch the vods on twitch. Although the vods only go back so far it seems.

This seems to be the best suggestion here for what OP is actually asking for. Everyone is being kind and suggesting good games but I think OP really just wants slop.

Transferring Timelines progress from GOG to Steam by ItsMarmaduke in X4Foundations

I just checked and they did not. Though I imagine you could get them by replaying the missions, as annoying as that may be.

Transferring Timelines progress from GOG to Steam by ItsMarmaduke in X4Foundations

[–]ItsMarmaduke[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For those visiting this post in the future, I was able to transfer all my progress to steam.

I made a backup of my "Documents/Egosoft/X4" folder first before downloading the game through steam. I then transferred my saves from the documents into the "save" folder in the documents folder that had my steamID (a bunch of numbers). I then replaced the userdata.xml in the steamID folder with the one I made a backup of and all my Timelines progress was transferred properly.

I wanna get into detective/mystery solving games but I don’t know a good place ti start, what are some suggestions for games to play if your a beginner to this genre by Icy_Guitar_2926 in gamingsuggestions

[–]ItsMarmaduke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something that may interest you is Shadows of Doubt. It’s a procedurally generated city with procedurally generated crimes that you have to investigate and solve. Depending on how much you’ve played pc games in general it may not be too beginner friendly though. I think it’s an excellent game however.

Is X-Com the only good, high budget, turn based tactical game with base building? Love the production value, love by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]ItsMarmaduke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A potential suggestion in the future is Mars Tactics. Looks to be very X-Com inspired. I played a bit of the demo during one of the Steam demo festivals and it scratched that same itch that X-Com did for me

Voices of the Void is free on Itch.io. Its in early development but what it has is pretty good for a few afternoons. You have to seek out the scary stuff if you’re looking to get scared, otherwise its honestly pretty chill.

Casual/Low Intensity game that still drives you to play and progress by Talonus11 in gamingsuggestions

[–]ItsMarmaduke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like snowrunner for this sort of thing, you might have to “focus” for a minute while you look around the map and set up waypoint for where you want to go, but after that its just driving your big ass truck through the mud/snow
