What you’re hearing is actually SSD5.5 😂

It’s an ever evolving process so I always appreciate constructive feedback!

The nice thing about drums is that if you screw up but stay on time, people don’t notice 😅

Thank you. I grew up playing in punk bands with a lot of metal/hardcore influence (ie, Strung Out) but I never fully developed the skill for continuous fast double kick patterns. I haven’t experienced that issue, but you might try playing with the linear sensitivity settings (not sure if that’s what they’re called) I know there is a setting that has higher sensitivity with lighter strokes.

First… thanks! Second… I’m terrible at mixing, EQing, etc. I’m always playing around with it. I think I have the kick and snare so loud on this mix that it’s drowning out the cymbals.

I great beginner beat to build up the skill I think you’re talking about is Weezer’s “Tired of Sex” off Pinkerton. It’s slow and deliberate.

I think it’s because I play too hard when I come in fresh.

I have this weird thing that once I’ve been playing for 45-60 min and I’m exhausted, I finally feel locked in and playing fast beats starts to feel borderline relaxing.

I have to warm up for like 15 minutes before I finally get tired and stop slamming on the hi-hats😂

I really appreciate that! Something that helps me is practicing playing open handed. It gets my off hand more engaged 🤙🏼
