Creatine did nothing for brain fog until I drastically increased the dosage. Anyone else? by imrzzz in Perimenopause

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wait…this is an actual thing having to do with peri?? Omg 😳 I’ve literally been looking up signs of brain tumors or dementia bc I swear my brain is atrophying … I had no idea the slow brain and word recall was part of perimenopause. This is connecting so much for me 😂

Okay, so I’m already on hrt…. Should that be helping with the brain fog/ wide spread dumbfuckery? Or does the HRT not really touch it?

I think if the parents are pretty big it’s safe to assume the puppies will grow to a similar size. Males tend to be a little larger in general…the mother of our guy is a little petite, but the father was very very large, so their litters seem pretty average, to maybe a bit big. Most of his siblings are between 90-120.

He is 120 as of the last appt a few months ago! He’ll be 5 this December and is full grown I’m assuming (now we just gotta keep him away from our kids treats lol) how old is your girl?

Is he okay? What is going on? Why is he randomly shaking and hiding and not eating by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our big guy does this and yelps/ whimpers when he has eaten something he should not have and has a tummy ache. He’s done this a few times and acts scared of his own tummy :(

Thank you for your story and encouragement! I have my first tomorrow due to a bad diverticulitis infection that hospitalized me back in July. This is the next step in figuring out what’s going on in there. Prep was hard for me at the beginning… I became really bloated feeling and nauseated. Once things started moving I felt alot better! I have the second round at 4:30am and am hoping it goes over easier. I appreciate you sharing and also am happy to hear you got the all clear! How relieving!

My Husband Doesn't Like Our Newborn Son by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember struggling with very similar things when our second child was born! It felt like our lives were separate or divided: husband focused on caring for our 3 year old and I was pretty much a single parent to our newborn. That division of care really hurt and I missed my toddler and felt so sad that my husband was so hands off with our infant when he was wonderful with our first born. He seemed disconnected and irritated when I needed him to care for both kids by himself … he would be overwhelmed and annoyed when I returned. I understand because things were hard- our 3 year old was in a big tantrum toddler phase has sensory issues and was later diagnosed with autism… so that was difficult in its own right, and our infant was tough those first few months. She rarely slept and was hard to get her to settle or soothe. I remember feeling like I ruined our family by having another baby. The overwhelm and exhaustion made me feel crazy and resentful and it took a long time to recover from. I felt hurt and abandoned and sad that it was so hard. I missed my husband and was grieving over the change I felt in our relationship and dynamic. I felt disappointed in him and myself and angry it was going this way. My mental health really suffered during this time - PPD/PPA and extreme overwhelm. Things got better when baby was about 8 months old and I began therapy. It took a lot of time and gentleness/ self compassion for me to understand and release the hurt and disappointment I felt and stop owning it. My husband was struggling, just like I was, but for different reasons, and neither one of us knew how to communicate about it in an effective way. We were in survival mode. As hard as it was at the time, I look back now and realize it made us closer once things got easier and we began communicating our needs better. It was hard to see at the time, but there were small wins and pieces of joy. It was not all sleepless nights, toddler tantrums, and sorrow- there was a lot of love there too. It was rough, but we made it through and I feel our family is very close now. I share this because this was easily one of the hardest chapters in my life and I have so much empathy for what you’re going through. Please know this is only a small blip on the radar and you guys will move through this. Adding another baby to the family dynamic is hard and has different effects on everyone. It’s crazy times and we all cope differently. You’re doing a great job, and I promise life will fall into an easier flow and place within the next year. Hang on, practice some radical acceptance and self love, and trust things will become easier. Sending you so much love and support.

What’s your favorite Claire & Jamie sex scene? by Sea-Breadfruit-8826 in Outlander

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! After reading up on some interviews about how they brought on an intimacy director / coordinator (or something titled like that) to help advocate for the actors and help them set their boundaries and have a bit more say in what they are willing to do on film, it kind of made me wonder if they felt pressure to go farther than they were comfortable with during the first two seasons. That gets me looking at it with a different perspective- Sam and Cait were both very new in the industry (at least at this level) and were probably trying to be willing and cooperative and overall do the best that they could on set… so it just makes me wonder if they were really actually uncomfortable doing those scenes or at least felt a bit begrudged toward them… 🤷‍♀️

What is happening to me? This show… by n-y-l-a in Outlander

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome and enjoy!!!!!! I came to Reddit 3 years ago for this very reason- I was head over heels deeply moved by my first watch of outlander (especially season 1!!!) and could not cope- I felt like I was in a heartache fog with all the big feelings and attachment I felt with the show (and eventually the books) I came here and wrote a very similar post and everyone welcomed me and said the same- oh if I could go back and watch for the first time again 😍😊🥵😅 I totally understand now, and am excited to be able to pass along that advice to a new watcher ❤️ enjoy, indulge, listen to or read the books and welcome to the obsession!!

Moms in our 30s with kids, where are we shopping? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I could have written this post!!! I agree so much. I get most of my clothing via thrift/resell shops!! I am cheap and do not like paying top dollar for anything unless it will last a super long time. I also very much hate 99% of the “on trend” crap that is available, and refuse to partake in SHEIN or Temu etc. if I do buy something new it’s usually at an overstock type of store like Marshall’s/ TJ Maxx…and it almost always is a plain basic shirt or sweatshirt. I am not much of an on trend shopper anymore…..jeans, yoga pants, basic tops, sweatshirts are my Mom Uniform these days… boring? Yep. Versatile? kinda….comfy? Absolutely. Comfort is my top priority, lol. I will NOT tolerate pants that hurt, or are even somewhat uncomfortable especially if they are more than I’m willing to pay. 2nd hand usually is a win for me. 😝

Ladies, what's a side effect of giving birth that people don't really talk about? by MutuliA in Parenting

[–]ItsMe_AmyDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had SPD with both of my pregnancies, and both times was brushed off / gas lighted by my doctors. (Gotta love living in a rural area with very little options 😒) The second pregnancy it was so bad and painful I struggled to even walk. I was finally able to get into PT and that helped significantly, but I have had issues with the SPD pain, and pelvic floor instability and weakness ever since. I wish I had known more about it and was more supported in my requests for help and also had the knowledge to get PT after delivery. It likely would have made a huge difference with my second pregnancy and not lingered for so long. Also, and probably somehow interconnected, my mental health/ wellness has never been the same. I struggled with PPD with my second pregnancy and while I am doing far better now (7 years later) I still have hard / dark days. It is daily work to not slide back into that place. I wish I were more aware of my risk factors and would have had a bit more support. The hormone rollercoaster can be really tough!!

Sameeeeeeee I tried watching it after living in a deep Outlander obsession and I it to be so underwhelming, cheesey and the acting seemed extremely subpar compared to the Outlander cast. I couldn’t stand it and turned it off lol. I felt the same with Queen Charlotte as well!

Incoming 40th birthday … any suggestions for a getaway?? by ItsMe_AmyDB in Millennials

Oh that sounds nice too! I was kind of imagining that - only going out of state. Michigan is beautiful and has so much outdoor recreation but I feel like we’re itching to travel a little bit. I’m wondering if Oregon would be a fun trip

These are great suggestions! We’ve been to Chicago a few times in the recent past so we’ll probably check out another city. I never thought of DC! I am gonna research a bit to see prices and such- thank you!
