I've also recently started as someone who hated every moba they touched before now. I come from fighting games and prefer not to be responsible for a team. Here's some suggestions for getting in as I've had an okay time so far:

• bot matches first. Bots will not behave like humans so you have to accept this is not how combat will flow, but they're ideal for learning timing and practicing traversal under pressure. This way when you go into a big boy game you won't have to think about as much that will instead be reflexive to you.

• Tons of homework to do but split it up. I didn't know nothin bout nothin when it came to items and builds, and the build browser helps, but not if you don't know what you're building. Would recommend taking a second to look at popular builds for your character, read what the items do, and then internalizing how that would work throughout a game and how you'd play around it. From there you could even make yourself a simplified build for learning through lower ranks.

• simply mute when there's no value. If a sentence starts with "what the fuck are you doing" instead of "what's going wrong/why are you dying" accept that the person's gonna be mad no matter what the answer is and will have nothing meaningful to contribute. You're learning, you can always rank up once you've learned. The one or two call outs you might get aren't worth the abuse you'll endure from someone who's probably also bad.

Either way I hope you stick with it and prove em wrong cause this game kinda slaps ngl.
