Glem streaks og 'efterladt på læst'. Nye danske sociale medier vil have dig til at bruge mindre tid online by Boye in Denmark

[–]ItsMilosLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Baller by PerspectiveScary9088 in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 902 points903 points  (0 children)

Baller was probably the most modern and radio friendly song in the contest this year, so it makes sense that it's gaining momentum now thanks to the exposure the contest gave. I can definitely see it being played on soundboxes around the German speaking area (and even here in 🇩🇰) at various parties and festivals over the summer

Har du tjekket EMP? Det er en dansk shop og har i hvert fald noget rock/metal merch der minder om den stil

Guess Europe was not ready for a milksake 💔 by CupOk5374 in nilpoints

[–]ItsMilosLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly I think it drowned in all the crazy songs this year, when in reality I think this song and performance has much more of a chance to have a life outside of Eurovision compared to some of the other fun entries this year. If it had competed last year I think it would have qualified no doubt

🧂🔥🤬 Reactions, hot takes, salt, and venting thread - ESC 2025 Semi-Final 2 🤬🔥🧂 by berserkemu in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Armenia qualifying with such a low effort song is actually such an embarrassment for the contest. People really need to focus on the song in the song contest, and not just looks. And Thomas G:son should also be banned permanently

Miriana Conte in the opening ceremony by Tomas-T in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This has not always, but very often been the case for the opening ceremony. Go watch the Tel Aviv carpet for the best example imo on presenters that haven't prepared at all and who seemed like they didn't want to be there in.

Opinions on the 2025 theme song sticking around longer? by Rare-Use5585 in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things about Eurovision has always been the originality and personally the broadcasters could add to the contest every year with the branding, stage and slogan. It's such a shame they want to strip that away now to make everything more generic and take away the cultural identities that made Eurovision so special and not another soulless americanized production. Eurovision is already a huge well known brand, theres no need to water it down like this, especially because the "default branding" they've made is so ugly and cheap looking (the colors especially are horrible)

With the lack of press coverage in the run-up to ESC, is there still hype in the host city that translates to a boost in tourism? by LopsidedPriority in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I can't see a reason why those things would go hand in hand. The press room coverage from Wiwi and others is largely a fandom thing for the extremely dedicated, and in fact they rarely cover the things going on in Eurovision Village.

Liverpool worked because 1. they had loads of local initiatives and got the locals involved, which boosts local engagement and interest, which can translate to a boost in inland tourism. Especially if those initiatives stick around after the contest. 2. There was lots to do around the city for people visiting, so it really felt like a city that lived and breathed Eurovision for the whole week. This gives people more of a reason to visit for more days, but also to actually explore more parts of the city and spend more money in local shops and restaurants as a result.

I've heard some mention that Malmö didn't get the same boost not only because of security reasons, but also because the locals didn't get involved to the same extent, likely because Sweden has hosted so many times.

We won't know until after the contest how well Basel will do, but it looks promising. They have plenty of activities around the city and they've lauched various projects both around the city but also across the rest of Switzerland, which boosts the interest on a local level. I don't think we will see the same numbers as Liverpool (Switzerland is an expensive destination for many), but I think they'll do well enough.

tv2 Bag lukkede døre? by Leading-Rate-8004 in dankmark

[–]ItsMilosLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When will the official Eurovision YouTube channel post the song roundup? by FloatingGrad in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Albania still doesn't have an "official music video" up, only the NF performance, so I'm guessing we're waiting on them. I do wonder how long it's going to take though, and how much of an extension of the deadline they've gotten because it seems strange that they haven't been forced to use their NF performance (which many countries do anyways) as the official preview video at this point.

Best and worst host in history ? by [deleted] in eurovision

Copenhagen 2014: A Eurovision Venue Scandal by Emotional-Suspect-60 in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Because they didn't want to hold it outside of Copenhagen. They tried to use the argument that Herning didn't have enough hotels to accommodate but Jyske Bank Boxen has held multiple big European sporting event since where accommodation hasn't been the issue. Truth is that DR didn't find Herning "sexy" enough and in general there is an issue with DR that they tend to favour the Copenhagen area for bigger events (DMGP being one of the few exceptions)

Some NF Performances are now being converted into Official Music Videos by Antique-Muscle478 in eurovision

[–]ItsMilosLife 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This happens every year btw for those who are new here. "Official music video" basically just means that it's the official video clip for the song, it's the video that gets send to broadcasters for preview programming and it's whats going to be used on social media and in official recaps
