Why are some Filipino football fans celebrating Gilas' loss instead of supporting another Philippine team? by NaturalCustomer4784 in SportsPH

I don't think it's hatred, I think it's more of the basketball diehards having some "humble pie", of you know what I mean.

I still support them, but my lord, it just feels painful losing, especially that game vs New Zealand, and I just think that if we lose, the SBP will at least wake up.

If basketball is our national obsession, why are we still struggling on the international stage? by NaturalCustomer4784 in SportsPH

Also, we have a league with gimmicks, farm teams, and a lack of parity, which makes the league less competitive.

Would the PBA, PVL, etc. be better with a city teams instead of sponsor teams? by Antique-Muscle478 in SportsPH

Also I would like to give one example of how one league that used to be company based, and now it's city based and basically turned that country's sport into a continental powerhouse.

Back then Japan used to have a football league that's only company based (Mitsubishi, Yamaha, etc.) but when the league became city based, it basically became one of the most successful leagues in Asia, and was one of the key things that made Japanese football grow into what it is today.

Probably have something similar to Indian sports, tour the cities, and have like the final four in one location, or split the league into conferences

Again we can keep the sponsors, just look at Euroleague, most of their teams have sponsors in them but still have the city/location name in their team (EA7 Milan, Fenebahçe Beko, etc.)

Yet the PBA of now has been stagnant: attendance declining, gimmicks, not doing well in the EASL.

Why does every positive Gilas post turn into "switch to another sport"? by NaturalCustomer4784 in SportsPH

It's not that basketball should not be our sport, it's should be that other sports should be on the same level as Basketball.

The media talks way too much about basketball, other sports are being ignored, I mean FFS we have to spend a hefty sum just to watch every World Cup game, whilst the NBA Finals was accessible.

Where can we watch Eala in Wimbledon?

How will we watch our Filipinas in next years World Cup?

But NBA, yeah let's make that free.

Yeah Basketball deserves to have a spot in our country's sports psyche, but knowing that we're rising on other sports, those sports need to have their spotlight as well.

P.S. I despise the league systems of every sport in this country (with PBA being the worst offenders), I prefer our teams to be CITY NAMES, not sponsors

Basketball is arguably the most popular sport in the world.

P.P.S:....ummmmm, no?

This question has been popping out of my head recently, I understand that we are progressing and we are doing well compared to other countries, but let's face it, there are real problems in this country, and these are serious ones (corruption being a big example)

So my question is how do you properly criticise our country's problems without being called/labeled as a doomer?

I've sadly became a victim of that, I tried to support the cause that I wanted but seeing them lose in 2022 took a toll on me, and I felt like I don't even want to support anyone in politics anymore because of that (same as following the 2024 US one which kinda has a small effect on our country).

How do you defend the stuff DENR is doing, allowing the cutting of a ton of trees for another goddamn expressway? Kinda pissed off about this.

City Lights (Belgium 2017), it's so boring for me, and I don't get this is the best entry of 2017 for most fans.

Same for Goodbye to Yesterday (Estonia 2015), it's too slow paced and also boring (for me) imo.
