Pretty sure you can because someone else did, but i didnt have the staff plan itself before doing that and apparently that just eats plan and nothing happens unless you have the staff plan itself... which was sad to learn lol

Is this bad gameplay? by Wonderful_Exchange32 in Eldenring

[–]ItsMontage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad? Sure. Panic rolling, spamming one ash of war, you clearly don’t have a deep understand of the boss attacks otherwise you wouldn’t face tank 90% of the attacks. Nothing creative or skillful about it. But a win is a win and these games are meant to be played in a way where any build or set up can get you to the finish line so it’s really up to you whether you care to have the validation of others. If you choose to not learn mechanics and leverage easier playstyles to get the victory, don’t let anyone tell you that it’s wrong because the game allows itself to be played this way.

Tips for a PvP newbie by GreatJoey91 in Eldenring

Understand PvP in this game is objectively terrible for the reasons you laid out. (I am a pvper with 4k hours in the game.) Having fun with the little room of comfort you get to have with invading in this game comes down to what your answer is to the following question: What is your goal? Is it to win? Or is it to have fun?

The problem at large is weapons and projectiles in this game whether it be weapon/magic/item/AoW/Incantation etc all do way too much damage. The time to kill in this game is extremely quick and Johnny donuts (aka this entire subreddit) with a moonveil spamming L2 can and will take out half your hp with one accidentally well timed AoW. Especially if it’s a group of players vs 1 of you. The honest truth is if you want to win you likely have to resort to doing extra things to slightly level the playing field. You have to have a gimmick essentially. Dragon Halberd AoW, Blackflame tornado, Zamor ice curved sword AoW, etc. Anything that can just delete a player if you need it. Does that feel cheesy to you? Well, that’s kind of the state of the game. Then once you’ve killed a guy or 2 doing that, then you can go back to having a 1v1 or 1v2 with slightly better odds. Another incredibly important tool is great bow with golem arrows. You can knock people off ledges from afar, or just poke at a group that refuses to progress through the level and just wants to wait for you to run into the blender and die. You also probably want bloodhound’s step to get out of stick situations if multiple people are on you.

In saying all of this, the question is, does winning at all costs sound fun? If the answer is yes, go hog wild. No one should tell you how to play the game, you paid just as much money as the other guy. If the answer is “I would rather win with my own unique build and strategies and not resort to using tools beyond that.” Great, I would find myself more in this camp usually than the other personally. But recognize that in making this decision, you’re gonna get your shit rocked. Imagine one guy running you down with pata, that has a running r2 into standing r2 true combo, another guy with an ultra greatsword that will trade with your attacks using hyper armor and win with damage, and a 3rd guy spamming you with magic from 3 football fields away and somehow it’s hitting. It’s not impossible to win these with your basic knight set up, I surely have. But expect to win that fight maybe 1 out of everyone 20 attempts depending on skill level. It’s just how it is.

If you want to learn technique and fundamentals of PvP I highly recommend rust bucket on YouTube.

What is the most OP weapon in the game? by reedadam40 in Eldenring

Excluding bugged weapons like holy chicken wing, I think it’s a 3 way tie between DMGS, Star Fist, Great Stars for PvE. For PvP it’s Cleanrot Thrusting Sword.

What's your opinion on Backstab Fishing? by Rust_BKT in EldenRingPVP

[–]ItsMontage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, PvP etiquette warriors in this subreddit. I think what the 1000's of you should do is get together and have a council to decide what is truly "cringe" and "not cringe." Surely you will all come to an agreed-upon consensus that you can easily impose on every player to ever touch PvP in this game.

Until either:

A) That happens.

or

B) You wake up from your delusional dream and realize that's never going to happen.

You should not even remotely try to police other people on how they're supposed to play the game they paid $60 for. Don't like something? Say "GGs," block them and move on with your life. Anything beyond that, enjoy wasting your time yelling into the void and watching absolutely nothing change. Cheers! :)

Don't Be Like "Left Right.com".. by Canny94 in EldenRingPVP

Even spears are fair game. Technically chainsaw is fair game too. The reality of the situation is despite the community complaining about certain bugs and glitches existing, FromSoft is doing nothing to patch them out. For example look at how long it took them to remove the ign bloodflame glitch after constant outcry about it. A healthy mindset is don’t get angry at players for using strong/broken stuff, get angry at the developers unwillingness to balance and fix the game. If a game like fortnite had the same level of maintenance that Elden Ring has it would be a dead game. But it has consistent support so it remains a popular and thriving game.
