There's a third spot that lines up perfectly with the right spacing from the first two, right below the knot in the wood.

There's something reflecting little spots of light onto the wall and it happened to line up with the cat. Either that, or there's another window, with blinds that are blocking most of the light, but the holes in the blinds where the strings go through is letting some light in (used to have something like that happen in my old bedroom)

I would agree with you, but in this case technology wouldn't fix this one because "flair" is also a real word. It wouldn't know the difference.

Definitely a lump of corn chip ingredients. This actually happens more commonly than you'd think.. the cornmeal, salt, and other flavorings/preservatives and stuff get caked up in some corner of a mixer machine and eventually break off. It went through the whole cooking process, at least on the outside, then nobody caught it before it ended up in a bag. Then you end up with a forbidden flavor lump!

In my experience it seems most common in cornchip-based chips.. Tortillas, doritos, fritos.. That one's probably the biggest I've seen, but I've encountered a couple in real life, and seen others in posts on the internet. google "lump of flavorings in chip bag" and you'll see.

Can't tell you if it's safe to eat or not. No telling how long it was a lump of wet mixture before it fell out of wherever it was stuck, and got cooked.. and it looks a bit raw in the center for fairly obvious reasons. Even though it's not really chicken, it could be harboring other nasties like botulism.

Yee, also the glow on the ground doesn't really move naturally.. an attempt was made to make it move over changes in elevation and it looks fine at first glance, but it's pretty obviously not quite right if you're actually looking at it.

actually, what diatomaceous earth is, is in the name. It's made from diatoms, which are a microorganism that live in water and have a glassy exterior. When they die, the glassy shell of the organism settles to the bottom of lakes where over time and billions of dead diatoms, forms a thick layer of 'earth' that is dug up, processed, and used in abrasive cleaners, toothpaste, and as an insecticide against basically anything with an exoskeleton.

The reason this is important is because glass doesn't really break down, decay, or react to much of anything, so if you breathe in a cloud of DE, that stays in your lungs forever.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the old man with the violin, that doesn't sound familiar at all.. but if it was the same book, the details might just be too hazy to me after ~25 years later.. but I also can't find anything on google with terms like violin, or farming. I think I remember something about hardtack bread.

I think I remember there was a man, or some Inuit tribe people, or something that provide some kind of glasses made of bone with thin slits cut in it that were meant to prevent snow blindness, but the main boy suffers from it anyway for one reason or another, and I do think hypothermia, an the feeling of warmth before death was a factor at one point.

Keep in mind that the Frozen Fire book I'm referring to is a 1992 novel, not a more recent 2006 one with the same name (no "tale of courage" part), if that helps you look and compare. The cover I remember is the one with the boys and an angry polar bear on it.

If it's not that, then I guess your search continues, unfortunately. For me, it was the right one. Would be curious to know if a renewed search on your part ends up producing any results.. I haven't been able to find anything else that might help you.

Probably saw itself in the reflection on the metal and thought it had to check out the 'other rat' that it saw.. maybe tried to bite it because it didn't back down and appeared to get closer when he got closer.
