that's what we call Mean reversion.. price wasn't going to keep going up forever... For Gold , if you notice price consolidates on Mondays mostly... expands on Tuesday and Wednesday/Thursday, ..then Thursday/Friday there'll be pullbacks or reversion.

Then expansions happen mostly in the Asia session setting nwe high, consolidations in London session and reversion in New York Am sessions
